Question Upgrade PC Gaming Worth it? Thoughts, Help & Advice?

First post. I've been playing at maxed in low quality settings that my cpu/gpu can handle. Looking to maybe upgrade the quality of my gaming experiences overall. With that in mind, I ask for advice

Would it be worth the investment to upgrade and experience pc games on highest settings, greater performance with amazing FPS for a few years?

This PC will be mainly for entertainment and gaming purposes.

What are your advice/recommendations? (The PC aesthetics doesn't matter to me). And what are the pricing range I should be looking for if I'm going to budget for this? With my limited knowledge of computers and recently seen custom PC builds - What type of computers, and computer parts cpu/gpu I should be looking for? I should go for custom PC build instead of in-store retail?

How much in the original costs would it decrease after a few years of gaming if I am going to sell it?

Custom is good if you can get it but then it also helps to know what parts to use. You can find websites that will build a PC based on parts they have in store, so you can pick and choose which parts, then I would look at what parts they have and watch videos about the parts to see what they think. That is what I would do if I got someone to make one for me. I don't like pre built as you can't pick all the parts.

GPU is hardest part to get right now, if your current system is still good enough I would keep saving and using it as maybe in a few months the prices/availability of GPU will be more realistic.. maybe. I can't see the future.

Prices on the RTX 3060's are dropping on ebay thanks to mining starting to crash but they're still expensive.

My current specs are:
AMD FX-6350 Six-Core Processor 3.90 GHz
16gm RAM
Radeon RX 460
1080p dual 24" monitors
- thinking the only thing I would need to purchase upgrade is cpu/gpu? all the other parts I have(mouse, keyboard, monitors, speakers, wiring, ram, etc)
Budget I can do no more than $2-3k CAD-Canadian (keep in mind I would sell this years later and hopefully would have most of the invested money back later-is that even possible and how much $$ would be lost??)

Hi thanks for the response, I enjoy playing MMORPG games. Would like to play and re-visit some of the games I've played such as Assassin's Creed Odyssey, Titanfall, Guild Wars 2, Fortnite, Amazon's New World on Beta, etc.

I actually had this PC, purchased it off of craigslist somebody built it. I'm sure I can learn how to assemble but it will just take some time and would rather have somebody build it for me like this gaming PC that I currently use. I don't really know how much the current CPU can handle if I am able to upgrade the RX 460 GPU onto something better. How can I check that?

Hi thank you vm looks great. I'd be happy with that recommendation. Read and watched the video 1080p, and seems to have potential for 4k, can just upgrade the monitor later or before possibly during boxing holidays when the best deals are in selection.

I haven't assembled a PC yet, but I can learn. I've saved most of the parts on my cart in amazon if none works out I'll just order, learn to assemble them all altogether. If I did, what kind of issues should I expect to run into?

And also I've looked around for something similar in my local area preferred, because I've never had any transactions with ebay after hearing and talking in person to how my friend got scammed a long long time ago and the shock on the face looked and felt traumatizing- ordered and purchased and was communicating with the seller seemed legit, finally paid and item never arrived and friend never were able to contact any longer, the seller cut off communications and disappeared. That stuck to me, so I never looked for anything there in ebay and prefer the local area.

There are 3 listing atm I've made transactions in this site in the past. What do you think? It's close to my budget too.

3070 is a great card and priced about the same as a 3060 Ti on ebay. Just make sure you go with a 650w psu for either of those cards.

You won't need 32GB for some years yet. Ideally there will be 4 RAM slots on the motherboard, so you can add 2x8GB now and have room for 2 more in the future if you ever need it.

Another thing to kill PC.

if you have 10 million I would spend more on better parts. Seasonic PSU won't kill everything else.
