Hi fellow gamers,

First post. I've been playing at maxed in low quality settings that my cpu/gpu can handle. Looking to maybe upgrade the quality of my gaming experiences overall. With that in mind, I ask for advice

Would it be worth the investment to upgrade and experience pc games on highest settings, greater performance with amazing FPS for a few years?

This PC will be mainly for entertainment and gaming purposes.

What are your advice/recommendations? (The PC aesthetics doesn't matter to me). And what are the pricing range I should be looking for if I'm going to budget for this? With my limited knowledge of computers and recently seen custom PC builds - What type of computers, and computer parts cpu/gpu I should be looking for? I should go for custom PC build instead of in-store retail?

How much in the original costs would it decrease after a few years of gaming if I am going to sell it?

Video cards are going for three times their normal price atm due to the shortage. With that said what is your current system specs, what is budget, monitor resolution and what country are you located?

op isn't sure what budget is, we need to establish a basis for what games, programs he wants to run before we can go looking at what system he should get.
Both of you are asking what budget should be...

So what types of games do you play?

Custom is good if you can get it but then it also helps to know what parts to use. You can find websites that will build a PC based on parts they have in store, so you can pick and choose which parts, then I would look at what parts they have and watch videos about the parts to see what they think. That is what I would do if I got someone to make one for me. I don't like pre built as you can't pick all the parts.

GPU is hardest part to get right now, if your current system is still good enough I would keep saving and using it as maybe in a few months the prices/availability of GPU will be more realistic.. maybe. I can't see the future.

Prices on the RTX 3060's are dropping on ebay thanks to mining starting to crash but they're still expensive.

My current specs are:
AMD FX-6350 Six-Core Processor 3.90 GHz
16gm RAM
Radeon RX 460
1080p dual 24" monitors
- thinking the only thing I would need to purchase upgrade is cpu/gpu? all the other parts I have(mouse, keyboard, monitors, speakers, wiring, ram, etc)
Budget I can do no more than $2-3k CAD-Canadian (keep in mind I would sell this years later and hopefully would have most of the invested money back later-is that even possible and how much $$ would be lost??)
- What are my options for my budget?

Hi thanks for the response, I enjoy playing MMORPG games. Would like to play and re-visit some of the games I've played such as Assassin's Creed Odyssey, Titanfall, Guild Wars 2, Fortnite, Amazon's New World on Beta, etc.

I actually had this PC, purchased it off of craigslist somebody built it. I'm sure I can learn how to assemble but it will just take some time and would rather have somebody build it for me like this gaming PC that I currently use. I don't really know how much the current CPU can handle if I am able to upgrade the RX 460 GPU onto something better. How can I check that?

Look at the gaming benchmarks in the link down below.

https://www.guru3d.com/articles-pages/intel-core-i5-11400f-processor-review,1.html

i5 11400 with RTX 3060 (look at the 1080P FPS).

Hi thank you vm looks great. I'd be happy with that recommendation. Read and watched the video 1080p, and seems to have potential for 4k, can just upgrade the monitor later or before possibly during boxing holidays when the best deals are in selection.

I haven't assembled a PC yet, but I can learn. I've saved most of the parts on my cart in amazon if none works out I'll just order, learn to assemble them all altogether. If I did, what kind of issues should I expect to run into?

And also I've looked around for something similar in my local area preferred, because I've never had any transactions with ebay after hearing and talking in person to how my friend got scammed a long long time ago and the shock on the face looked and felt traumatizing- ordered and purchased and was communicating with the seller seemed legit, finally paid and item never arrived and friend never were able to contact any longer, the seller cut off communications and disappeared. That stuck to me, so I never looked for anything there in ebay and prefer the local area.

There are 3 listing atm I've made transactions in this site in the past. What do you think? It's close to my budget too.

https://vancouver.craigslist.org/van/sys/d/vancouver-gaming-pc-acer-predator-orion/7329454950.html

https://vancouver.craigslist.org/bnc/sys/d/burnaby-selling-gaming-pc-rtx-3060-ti/7325921195.html

Should I save the hassle of learning to build one for own and perhaps find a deal with in the site. Or worth learning to assemble from the parts you've put together for me. Lastly, I watched a building pc tutorial and I would assume all those parts are compatible, yes?

Tough call tbh. They look decent enough.

Here's another option. Replace the 550w psu in that build with something like this.

https://www.memoryexpress.com/Products/MX73969
Seasonic Focus GX-650, 650W 80+ Gold, Full-Modular $119.99

And replace the gpu in that build with something like this ...

EVGA GeForce RTX 3060 Ti FTW3 ULTRA GAMING 8GB GDDR6 Graphics Card $1,300.00

Firstly always appreciate your input. Thanks so much!

I spent some time watching graphics card comparison videos up to 3090, and checking the prices 3090 is ideal but 3070 is what I can go for. The pricing as well are almost the same as the 3060ti. The 3070 in my local area have a little lower prices, seems like there's plenty sellers here for the 3070, and may be competing with the prices so it's slightly lower than the 3060ti?

So if the slight change need to replace those parts... What optional parts if going for build should be replaced if 3070?

Don't need this much but just curious if the ram be upgraded to a total of 32gb btw?

3070 is a great card and priced about the same as a 3060 Ti on ebay. Just make sure you go with a 650w psu for either of those cards.

I would assume all those parts are compatible
They probably are, but whenever building yourself, input your parts below—they'll warn of any mismatches.

Just curious if the build can total up to 32gb ram
You won't need 32GB for some years yet. Ideally there will be 4 RAM slots on the motherboard, so you can add 2x8GB now and have room for 2 more in the future if you ever need it.

Here's a reasonably priced case with better cooling and cable management than the one I posted in that build.

https://www.amazon.ca/Phanteks-Mid-Tower-PH-EC400ATG_BK01-Tempered-Controller/dp/B07TYR1P1G/
Phanteks Eclipse P400A ATX Mid-Tower $89.99

Rear exhaust fan for the back of that case.

ARCTIC F12 Silent, 120 mm 3-Pin Fan with Standard Case $16.19

Recommended Cheapest PC Build Under 10 Million For Gaming
10 million what?
that is a big range you using there, sure would have a nice bit of change.

1st Player Gaming PSU Sir 450W
that PSU likely to cause house fires so no wonder its cheap. I wouldn't trust that PSU to do anything apart from kill other parts - https://forums.tomshardware.com/threads/is-this-1stplayer-gaming-psu-a-good-psu.3124284/

there is a reason some things are cheap, they aren't good either.

Infinity Elysium
fish tank case, check... rgb fans that can't breath, check... but it looks pretty.
Another thing to kill PC.

if you have 10 million I would spend more on better parts. Seasonic PSU won't kill everything else.
