Updating Nvidia Driver Question

Hi guys. My laptop uses an Nvidia RTX 5060, and I primarily use my laptop for gaming (Lenovo Legion 5 Pro). When it comes to Nvidia Drivers, should I always install the latest Game-Ready Driver when it becomes available, or hold off until a game requires a new(er) Driver? Also when installing an Nvidia Driver, should I do a Clean Install (It removes current Driver and deletes Nvidia Profile(s)), or just install over previous/older Driver? Thoughts and help appreciated 🙂

I would only update the Nvidia driver if you need it for a game. They aren't the most stable drivers and it generally works best to just stay on the one you have that works.

When I had an Nvidia driver I would just let it install over the top. The install process is pretty good. Maybe clean install every 6 months. If you want.

I usually ignore my drivers until I feel like I'm having a performance issue or some other problem that an update may resolve. Then generally just click right through (if you're using the Nvidia Experience software, should be easy).

Sometimes I might think, "Oh, I should see if there's a new driver" and then do that. But that happens only occasionally. Been doing it like this for 20+ years now.
