Main restriction is finding an item that has the right stats in the right rows, as not all rows can have the right values. I was looking at one last night and although it had two of the skills I needed, one was on wrong line and after looking at available values for that line, one of the skills I wanted doesn't show on that line. So needed to remove "totems do extra damage" from one line to another.
That and some items just seem harder to find, such as rings and Helms, with the values I want to find. Bracers and Gloves seem more likely to have green lines on them. Amulets seem the rarest.
Not sure if all values can be shown as Green. Crit chance can be Green but maybe not the Totems value can be - I haven't seen enough items to know for sure
Anyway, my Mage went a little mad last night
She replaced her:
- Gloves
- Bracers
- Shoulders (though I think this was night before)
- Boots (this was night before)
- Her other ring she has wanted to match the new one above
- Cape (this was last thing she did)
Using tier 6 forges to get experience on the items so I can upgrade them to 12 (an upgrade normally adds 10% to all values on items, some times it can crit and you get more than 10% as if item you have doesn't have the best roll for that line, then you only get 10% of what you had, not the absolute max. ).
You can adjust almost all values on an item, but not Green lines. No way to edit those without removing their Green status so you have to be lucky and find one that is max value. But you can lock their values in place and edit all other aspects of the item. And upgrades can crit and bring a green item up to its max potential roll.
I noticed a change, up until yesterday the forges didn't beg me to give the monsters any health for them to exist in the game...
Forges are really just card games where you pick one of three cards each round to continue, and one selection of cards gives the AI one of the below choices:
Normally they aren't the first choice when I start a Forge, it would ask at some stage for more, but not 1st round. Game would attack you a few times before making the enemy stronger. More of a challenge
And sometimes it repeats the request until I give it what it wants... that or it gets tired of me saying "speed" as I found easiest way to survive is to make them really fast but with no Strength or Health - that is in fact my normal choice with the cards.
But since I updated all those items above with green text that adds more defence, and DPS, they become insistent. Almost begging... makes total sense as they don't really show as anyhing apart from damage figures until they have more Health and can survive my intital hit.
Some of the card choices make them annoyiing to deal with, these include:
- giving them a shield for 100% of their life
- nullifying shield which has them ignore a number of hits - 1 hit isn't so bad but one choice is the 1st 5 hits. They are in your face really fast
- Hermetic: this makes them immune to Damage over Time
- Gravity: this reduces range of ranged attacks
The last two mostly are annoying for my build as I sit in middle of screen and annihilate anything on the outed areas gefore they ever get to me... first half of the game is really quiet as no enemies survive long enough to hurt me for long, and if I don''t give them any health at start, they get really pushy about me selecting one as there are worse
- Cursed cards where they give the enemy too much strength/life - Gargantuan for example adds 300 strength and is really impossible to deal with in conjunction with Nullify or some others - I learned that the hard way.
- Or they can give enemies the value of one of the collectibles in the stage (such as your gold amount) and suddenly have 100 million health and you have no chance of killing it.
- Upgrades that don't tell you what choices might be in the coming round. Such as next round is all legendary cards or Rare, and not all of those are good
Most times it will offer me two cards I don't want to pick and I have no choice but pick 3rd. Some times its 3 cards I don't want at all and just have to pick the least annoying.
Some cards just don't work with my build and I refuse to pick them... one adds an unkillable monster to a round and only way to remove it is kill everything else. This doesn't work with my build as two of my 3 auto turrets will concentrate on keeping it at bay and the 3rd can't cope with killing everything else in the round. I remember the few times I picked it.
weird, spell check isn't running on Firefox so I probably missed a few words. Or at least, its being selective as to what it checks.
