Simracing gear - tips for buying

He makes 4 points
1. The performance gap between high and low end is much smaller than it used to be, the main differences now are mostly features and materials
2. As such the price you pay for the more expensive might not improve your gameplay
3. Avoid FOMO and chasing near gear thinking it must be better since its new. (tries not to think about his next pc in regard to this)
4. Don't just believe one review, look at all of them (I agree with this message) and get a more varied opinion.

Sadly, I have no simracing gear. I always get close to buying a wheel and stand during sales, but never do it. Now that I'm getting a new computer, maybe I can think about doing it some more (and still never pull the trigger).

Honestly, it's not as much fun with a regular controller, but you can do nearly as well and beat most other players with them. I even joined a semi-pro team for one race because they needed one more driver, and I had raced against them before. I never told them I didn't have a wheel, and they assumed that I did. Out of 14 teams, I finished my segment in 2nd.

The one thing I can't do with a regular controller is make tiny adjustments, so my driving looks a little jerky sometimes, almost like I'm using a keyboard. Maybe I could change my controller settings and figure that out, though.

I don't have anywhere to put a steering wheel. So almost all of the racing games I have played were on controller. I was never committed enough to buy anything more, Only joystick I ever bought for PC was a flight stick about... um, 20 years or more ago.

There are extremes
They have only sold 5 of the 2.5 million GBP set up, so its not a money maker in bulk
I saw that video and just thought it might help others.
