I am considering buying a mini PC and installing SteamOS on it, for basic gaming on the TV.

I believe there are two options I am looking at:

Minisforum UM680 Slim, Ryzen 7 6800H (8C16T, 680M, Zen 3+, RDNA 2), £320
Minisforum UM760 Slim, Ryzen 5 7640HS (6C12T, 760M, Zen 4, RDNA 3), £315

Both come with 16 GB RAM and a 1 TB SSD.

Which would you say is quicker for gaming?

I believe the 6800H has faster CPU performance but the 7640HS has faster GPU performance?

Its close.

Seems the Zen 3 Ryzen 5800X loses out by 10% to the Zen 4 Ryzen 7600X despite having 2 less cores. But the GPU is less clear cut because the 680M has more GPU cores than the 760M despite the latter being newer. From what I can find the 680M seems a little faster overall.

Based on the 6800H being Zen3 + which would put it a little closer than plain Zen 3 than the 5600X is to the 7600X, I'd probably take the 6800H, because the extra 2 cores might come in handy and the GPU seems a bit faster from what I can find. Laptop chips are hard to find reliable benchmarks because of the nature of them being closed system unfortunately.
