Im planning to upgrade my pc, my budget is round about 250€, I thought about a Ryzen 5 2600 with the GA-AB350 mainboard (I can get it from a friend for 40€) and 16gb of G.Skill Aegis DDR4 RAM.
  • My current build:
  • KFA2 1660 Super
  • I5 4460
  • MSI militaryclass 3
  • 8 gb Ram
  • Samsung Evo ssd
  • and a 1tb HDD
is it compatible? I´m playing some games like csgo, league but I want to try Cyberpunk and the witcher as well, also im editing a few fragmovies.
I would be grateful to hear your opinion on that or even other suggestions, thank you in advance.

A Ryzen 2600 with 16GB of RAM would be a decent upgrade for you, especially for video editing. Sounds like youre getting them for a good price as well? One thing I advise is checking that the RAM you buy is on the manufacturers QVL list. You'll find it on the Gigabyte website on the motherboards page. Occasionally people have stability problems with some kits that havent been tested before hand by the manufacturer.

Other then that, go for it and good luck.

Throw that build in pcpartpicker and check compatibility. lol. My go-to method
Its a good start :) Unfortunately Partpicker only checks if the RAM is DDR4 and then selects it as compatible. It doesnt know if the RAM is on the QVL.

To be fair most kits will work, especially now Ryzen is popular. But if the kits are tuned for Intel processors the XMP settings can cause problems with the RAM due to secondary and tertiary settings that might not be ideal for Ryzen. This may cause crashes and hangs in Windows for example that would be annoying to diagnose later on.

Better to check the QVL and be sure. Also make sure to check the exact kit part number(eg:F4-2133C15S-16GIS)
and not just the branded name (Ripjaws, Aegis, Vengeance etc)

Can't say for sure it's a smart upgrade (I'm not by any means a specialist) but I can confirm I can play Cyberpunk with the Ryzen 5 2600. I've paired it with an rtx 2060 6gb and play on 1080p on ultra with making a few compromises here and there (ray tracing is off for instance, it has way to much impact on performance).

I always was more inclined to Intel, but since I got this Ryzen I'm back to the AMD side. They give great performance for reasonably prices.

I do a little Photoshop and InDesign and it works great, but can't really tell you how it performs with video editing. You should be good though.

Cheers.
