So, im looking for some serious advise. I want to build a gaming PC. I was going to buy the PS5 but I think I'm going to skip it. Here's my goal. I want to aim for 1440p @ 120fps. I'm into the idea of building an ITX or Mini ITX pc. This pc will he gaming ONLY. Im not interested in any RGB fans or anything like that. I want my money going to where it counts. Where is the price per performance sweet spot? What parts do you guys recommend and how much are we talking. This PC will vd hooked up to my LG CX. Thanks!!

Assuming youre in the U.S.

Firstly wait for the new AMD Ryzen chips next month, AMD to release their GPUs at the end of the month and also the RTX 3070 coming up.

Your LG CX is a 4k TV. You probably want to aim for 4k as 1440p will not look great on a 4k display. The number of pixels for 4k does not divide equally into 2560x1440 the image will be blurry if you output to it 1440. Some people don't seem to mind this others hate it, best to test it out somehow first to see how you feel about it personally.

For a reference to price I put together a partpicker list. Again I DO NOT SUGGEST YOU BUY THIS. But it will hopefully serve to give an idea roughly how much you'll want to spend for a price to performance experience.

There are so many releases coming up in the next two months the CPU and GPU here will be bad value, their replacements at their relative price points will definitely outperform them. With a couple of lowered settings I would say an RTX 3070 for example will likely proviede a pretty good 4K experience. Judging by the performance of the 3080.

In reality you can spend anything from 500 to 10000 Dollars. But IMO around 1500 is probably the sweet spot for a tower if you can go that high.

Thanks for the reply! I am not in a huge hurry. I want to wait to see what the PS5 can actually do along with the new AMD gpus that are coming out. 1500 will probably be my limit.
