[QUESTION] Self promotion on forum

Hello!
Is it allowed to promote my own game on forum?
It's a space MMO, a passion project, inspired by the early years of Battlestar Galactica Online (BSGO).
If it's allowed, please provide the appropriate section for posting about the game.
Thanks in advance.

Hi and welcome.

You would have to contact Community@Futurenet.com for permission to do that. Otherwise the forums would be swamped with single post members promoting their games/Youtube channels/whatever.

Thank you for your reply.
I've sent a request to the email address provided.
Just a suggestion: wouldn't it be better to create one small section for such things and post content there with prior approval from the admins/mods? I think it would be much simpler for everyone.

Theres a studio spotlight section and at least one or two dev blog type threads around the place in other sub forums that are updated sometimes. I'm not opposed to the idea, but us mods dont have any influence in those kind of decisions.

I was told by staff in the past if they see merit in a project they may even be able to help with contacting people who can advise on marketing or whatever.

Interesting what you're writing...
As for projects that are worthy of attention and have merit – quite an inventive approach. And understandable, because among unknown games you can find true gems, but also terrible things that will never be unseen 🙂

Its hard, there are people who genuinely have a passion project and then you would have other people out for a quick buck, so if we allowed everyone to post dev threads the good stuff might get drowned out anyway.

Best of luck on your journey.
