PC WONT POST

So i had an issue everytime i started my pc the cpu light would be on i sent the motherboard for testing it was fine and got another cpu now it also happens but its wierd if i the pc works then i shutdown (also had an issue where it wouldn't shut down fully) and i start it again it works wonders but if i wait idk 8+ hrs when i try to power it on it will stay stuck what i did to fix it was plug out the psu cable and held the pc button for 1 min and it worked. Im thinking it might be a Cmos battery although in Hwinfo it says its at 3.0V but maybe its lower after it stays off. Or there could be electricity still somehow in the pc? Anyways i really need your help i really don't want to lose another cpu bcs i didn't try everything else. I send the moborboard 2 times to waranty they said its okay i send the ram same thing. Went to a local shop and he said its the ram but i just cant trust anyone since when i send them to waranty they say its working just fine what can i do? BTW i have some videos and pics if anyone needs more info. I really need help i dont know how i can prove to get my parts replace by warranty or at the worst buy the right ones.

what are specs of the PC?

What CPUs have you had, and what motherboard is it?
Have you got latest BIOS on motherboard?
What Power Supply do you have?
What ram?
What storage devices? any hdd?
what else is attached?

show us a list of parts and we can try to offer suggestions.

It could be another device not answering at start and causing post to wait

have you tried to start with the bare minimum in PC? I mean - CPU, GPU (If CPU doesn't include an integrated GPU), ram, and power.

Since it happens every time, it should be easy to test and see if that works. it won't boot into windows in this state since storage not attached, but it might show those parts are okay or not.

If it doesn't get past post, it might at least remove everything else from blame. Some parts are harder to test than others.

If I were to guess I would say PSU, but I don't like guessing without confirming everything else is okay first... blind replacing can get expensive if you keep getting it wrong.

It would be unlucky to be the new CPU. Two dead CPU on same board would make me look at power for sure.

Do you get an error at start when its stuck?

show us photos? might want to click on link below as the embed isn't showing entire thread

videos might be harder given you a new user, but can try linking to Youtube. We used to get a lot of spam and forums locked down now.

CMOS battery a cheap fix, worth a try.

if you doing a hard shutdown - unplugging and holding power in for a minute, there shouldn't be any power left in system.

it doesn't sound like a memory error, they are more random and would cause BSOD in windows, not start

so i have an msi b550 a pro kingstone fury renegade ddr4 32gb my psu is a gigabyte ud750gm the first cpu was a 5700x3d this is is an 5700x the gpu is a 5700xt the pc worked fine for 7 months then it started happening changed cpu cuz this one got damaged on the way to waranty and after 1 month with the new one same issue if i use 1 ram either sticks in slot 4 it works if i add 2 ram stick slot 2 4 1 3 it mostly stays stuck in post with cpu led on but it rarely does pass and goes into windows the local pc shop said it could be an issue with the ram most. i want to know what i can change at least to be sure yk. This is I have to m2 ssd 1 is brand new but it has no windows on it and the other is at 93 health so . for the video and stuff if u have a discord acc or anything i can send u those there if its easier for u too since i cant post links he

Sounds like ram or motherboard

I assume ram worked before at some stage?
Is it one set or mixed ram?

is it 2x16gb sticks or 4x8gb? They come in both configs
Asus have tested both versions with board so should work.

Wonder what version BIOS you have installed.
the CPU needs 7C56vA9 installed which came out 18th March 2022. if you haven't updated it, the default bios appears to be 7C56vA0 from June 2020.

Current BIOS is 7C56vAK dated 24 Sept 2025 (there is slightly newer Beta but its best ignore those. )

BIOS updates can improve ram compatibility

There aren't any tests for motherboards, you test everything else. Process of elimination.

have you run memtest on the sticks?
Try running memtest86 on each of your ram sticks, one stick at a time, up to 4 passes. Only error count you want is 0, any higher could be cause of the BSOD. Remove/replace ram sticks with errors. Memtest is created as a bootable USB so that you don’t need windows to run it

unlikely it is cause though since you say it works with any stick in 1 slot and not at all with any of the other sticks inserted. Still a good idea to check.

Do you have any friends with the same ram? You could test theirs in your PC or test yours in theirs.

PSU aren't that easy to test
the paper clip method - https://forums.tomshardware.com/threads/what-is-the-paperclip-method-of-testing-a-psu.1336402/ - this one just confirms it works

or multimeter https://www.lifewire.com/how-to-manually-test-a-power-supply-with-a-multimeter-2626158

or in the BIOS to check the +3.3V, +5V, and +12V. - https://www.lifewire.com/power-supply-voltage-tolerances-2624583

not storage drives I don't think if it gets stuck at post.
Light showing on CPU has been known to also mean ram

ram works now its wierd its 32gb 2 sticks bought like a kit its wierd i tried restarting shutdown it it works fine for now but then again the first time it also worked for 7-8 months before it went bad i do have some older ddr4 ram sticks not a kid tho one is 16gb one is 8 but if it has the posting issues again i assume i can try those. I ran memtest the usb version it passed 4/4 all nice like both sticks in then i used tm5 for 90 mins i belive it was good then i used ooct used the memory test for 1 hr it was also good and then in ooct i ran the power test for like 30-40 mins nothing wrong there. I did some pbo settings for my cpu and i also disabled memory fast startup i belive its called so who knows the bios is the latest version
