Normally these threads are posted 'before' purchasing. That's an older cpu ... it was discontinued in 2012 not to mention its DDR3 and DDR4 has been the standard for some years now. That PC will run older games but struggle heavily with newer games. What country are you located and what is your budget.
Thank you for replying. Im in USA, budget what ever make him happy

Hello kgb , before you spend any more money let me give you some valuable advice , the first thing you need to do is decide what games your son wants to play then google the games required running specification.

Example .... lets say you want to use GTAV , google " what spec does gtav need to run " , you will eventually find a site that tells you what the game needs to run , some sites even scan your pc to see if its good enough

The prices of video cards are at an all time high atm due to the extreme shortage (COVID + mining craze) but you can use your current gpu for now and add a new (modern) one to this build later on once prices get back to normal. Easy as pie to build this yourself thanks to youtube or have a local PC shop put it together once all the parts arrive. Match these parts on Amazon for the free shipping.

This gives you an idea of what your looking at price wise for a modern gaming PC minus a new video card.

With speak like that, I think it's good enough.
However, If the performance problem in one game is very severe, try to fix the installation, update your drivers, Then, make sure the game itself is the latest version.
