New gaming PC Help!!!

Got the wild hair to build my first gaming PC spent $1k and got decent components. Got everything put together correctly booted up fine, loaded windows, no issues. Downloaded the amd graphics driver, steam, and I racing. (I did not download any other drivers like I was supposed to). The moment I plugged in the steering wheel and pedals for sim racing, the pc shut off and hasn’t been the same since. It will boot up but runs very slow and if I try to do anything other than internet it shuts down and re boots.

I tried to do a windows factory reset but it keeps shutting down before it finishes the reset. Tried this 5 times. I figure if I can start over and load the correct drivers it gives me a place to start.

Did something short out when I plugged in the wheel? Tried the wheel on the Xbox and it works fine.

Anybody got any ideas? Thank you for your time!

What power supply do you have?

I assume steering wheel/pedals are USB?

have you tried safe mode? https://www.ccleaner.com/knowledge/how-to-start-windows-11-in-safe-mode
drivers won't work there but if its still crashing in safe mode, its unlikely to be a software cause.
you can't really play games in safe mode

windows would have installed most of the drivers you didn't. It tries to be helpful like that

you are on the latest non beta BIOS on motherboard. Safe place to be

500w power supply now that I think about it could that be the prob. Pc part picker estimated my need at 400w but now that I think about I’m gonna be plugging in a few things so could that be the problem?

What make/model PSU is it?
cheap PSU can be dangerous to other parts in the PC. It doesn't pay to buy a cheap one.
Its an easy enough mistake to make on your first PC... when I started I didn't even think about the PSU.

500 watts should be enough if it actually supplies that much, often the cheaper ones can't supply the power they say they can. Better ones can supply more if necessary.

The reaction to plugging in USB was what made me question PSU.

the slowness is strange, all the ram being seen? At right speed?

I did buy a cheap one so just ordered a nice psu. Thank you! Yes the Ram is all being seen at the correct speeds. I’ll swap the psu and go from there.
