Name something good about gaming that only exists due to a lack of technology

I'll get the two easy ones:

I'm not a huge fan of chiptune, but a lot of people love it, and you know it would never have been created if better tech had been around.

I'm also not a huge fan of pixel art, but it, like chiptune, has a huge fanbase and will likely be around for a good long time. Like chiptune, it's unlikely it would exist had better tech been available.

Compression? Without the need to fit games into a tiny space we wouldn't have all the tricks used to make them fit into cartridges. Or just memory in general.

Being able to play Doom on pretty much everything is part of it.
Might not be a big one but its played a part.

Adventure Games

I'm not an aficionado or anything, but I've played quite a few of them and always enjoy them. Even though they tend to consist of only a limited amount of Screens, they evoke a strong sense of a much larger, much more full of life world.

Without storage limitations, graphical limitations etc, it may not have been a thing. A (mostly) static screen with mostly text for what's going on is easy to fit, easy on slower systems etc.

Over the years, ive enjoyed reading of people figuring out how to play Doom on the most oldest tech out there, even non tech, like potatoes . This adds good vibes to gaming for me.
