Mass effect andromeda question

I am returning to this after a long break from it.
I am currently in the atrium on meridium at the top of a staircase their is a door i cant open.
In the main quest .... meridian the way home the only thing i have left is .... defeat the kett guarding the main entrance .... but what entrance and where is it.

I remembered why i stopped doing this many years ago.
Today i went back to eos and found the base to attack for the way home quest , you kill troops then disable everything and the last bit is defend the base entrance from the kett.
That is when i had a flash back the kett never stop attacking you kill them and wait a long time and some more are dropped in by aircraft , they never stop so you are never told you have killed enough to compete that quest.
In between waves of kett i sat reading a magazine and was never told i had killed enough ... i must have killed hundreds of them.

Are making a joke or is that fact .... if true then it is like manhunt ending , you hide outside the end location building picking off the bad guys but they never stop .... you have to run inside all the way to the top to get mr big

I haven't played Andromeda, but it does sound like a similar situation where the game is sending infinite enemies expecting you to walk/run to a certain point.

UPDATE......

Joking apart i think defeat the kett at the entrance part of the way home is bugged.

I got into the complex then killed and scanned everything and went back to the entrance to defend it.
In the distance you see 3 ships drop enemy but you dont see them coming towards you they just appear.
You kill them all wait about 10 minutes and it happens again until you get fed up.
Only once did i see a green message flash up to say all kett eliminated move to next objective.
The screen changed so quick i could not read the objective and the journal went back to kill kett at entrance.
