Hello, I am needing help looking for a controller for alternative movement from WASD, The reason being is because I injured my left hand sometime ago and i can't really use my fingers that well so when playing games that require PC keyboard and mouse, specifically movement even if I change my keybinds to ASDF its still difficult is there a type of joystick or controller i can use in my lefthand in place of WASD

Just based off a quick Google search, this may be worth looking into: https://evogameware.com/

They make a device which is basically the left half of a normal controller, so your left hand uses that device while your right hand uses the mouse still. Only issue I can see with it is the lack of buttons, you'll have to make sure you have enough buttons across this device and your mouse to control your game properly.

EDIT: I apologize, it appears to be on pre-order only now, not officially out yet.

If you know someone with a 3D printer, or maybe even have one, all you need is a cross (size of A - D) and (width of W-S) down stems about 10mm long and an upright around 50mm long. Glue it to your AWSD keys and it will be like a mini joystick. Many years ago you could buy these for pc's but doubt they are still on the market. I would assume it would take a bit of getting used to though and keyboard rage would not be recommended.

Hi @Charagma. That's a terrible idea :ROFLMAO:

It's interesting that they used to make those. Did they actually tell you to glue them to the AWSD keys or could they clip on or something?

Honestly cannot remember. think it was just double sided tape under the feet. Will see if I can find an image of it. Think was called a key-joy or something silly like that. I have some time to waste while my system does virus checks. Will scratch around. If I find it I will post the link here

If you go into the video somewhere (Probably around 3 or 4 minutes in) he talks about the other versions and the 3d printed versions. Here in my country they were fairly popular. Do not know if they worked as well since I would have died without ailment if I stuck anything to my dad's keyboard. I just did the button thing.

This is the modern version and actually something I would buy. My biggest problem with driving games on keyboard and mouse is if you press A you go FULL left no middle point so you constantly need to press and release to take a perfect turn. This would also be great for RPG's and free up fingers for key binds. Something to look into if you are looking for a "cheaper" alternative to a gamepad or controller.
