I feel like I got a great deal on this screen - either that, or I didn't do my research. I'm still in the return window so I'm just gathering some opinions as a sanity check. This seems like a hell of a lot of features, and 4k at 28 inch has great pixel density... so, jumping from a 24" TN SDR display to my eyes this thing looks just ASTOUNDING, my mouth was literally hanging open when i played the 4k OLED demos.
I had a 100$ gift card and it was listed at 300$. Samsung currently lists it at 699 so I came out of pocket just over 200$ for this display. That means I paid less than 50% of the listed MSRP. I'm usually an UltraGear or Alienware\Dell fan so I have never really looked into Odyssey - and my heart was set on a 32" but it was just such a deal, I figured why not.
It's nowhere near OLED panels, but those are mega expensive! and I'm not looking for an answer to "is this the best monitor" I've been using it for several days and its a GREAT monitor for me. Again, this basically cost me $200 so the goal here is to see if there is something else out there at this 200-300$ price point that would have been a wiser buy.... so far i have found nothing in that price point that compares.
Currently paired with a 3090ti it meets all my needs perfectly fine and positions me well for my plan to pick up a used 4080 Super after 50 series drops (1440p is the new 1080 and very soon 4k will be the new 1440). I don't play competitively and 95% of the time enjoy single player games so 4K HDR at 144hz will be plenty performant for me for some time - even if my next card is the 4090.
Samsung Odyssey 28" G70B - 4K 144hz HDR IPS panel with official Gsync and Freesync Premium Pro support.
Alexa Smart TV support.
Apple Airplay support
Supports 21:9 widescreen mode at 3840x1600p, as well as its native 16:9 3840x2160p mode
Display synced LED lighting (might not be your thing, but its a feature that constitutes an upcharge)
fully adjustable stand and mount - seems like this is a "premium feature" now (tilt, swivel, pan, rotate, height)
integrated speakers
USB 3.0 hub\KVM
2x HDMI 2.1 + 1 DP 1.4
Corrected the MSRP's - I was looking ath the 32" model for that pricing
