Yesterday my brother and I upgraded his GPU from an RX 6600 XT to an RTX 4060. He had a prebuilt computer that has a 600w power supply, a Ryzen 5 5600x, upgraded 2x16 DDR4 Corsair Vengeance RAM, 500 GB M.2 SSD, 3TB Upgraded HDD.

The issue we ran into specifically was trying to play Call of Duty BO6. It was nearly unplayable after the upgrade, even at the lowest settings. During benchmark testing in game it stated that there was a 0% cpu bottleneck and a 100% GPU bottleneck. My only thought is that the power supply is not sufficient enough to power everything and to upgrade that.

Before spending more money on a potential fix, does somebody have a sure fire way to determine what the actual issue is? Whether it be a CPU issue, power supply issue or a faulty GPU? Any advice is appreciated

To add to this, he plays on a 144 hz, 1920x1080 display

Hi just to confirm you fully uninstalled the AMD driver suite using DDU in windows safe mode?

If not do that before anything else.

Otherwise its important to know what the exact make and model of the power supply is? 600W should be way more than enough for either of those cards.
We have not tried that, I will definitely do that when I have a chance later on. Thank you for the advice.

As for the power supply, I’m not fully certain the exact make of it. The prebuilt case has a cover over the power supply housing and there’s no real way to see into it. Before all else I’ll try the uninstalling with DDU. I uninstalled it in the normal windows uninstall area but not with that

You could tell us the exact model of the prebuilt and maybe we can find it listed online. According to reviews the RTX 4060 actually uses less power than the 6600XT so I very much doubt its a power problem unless it just happened during the changeover.

I just checked this out, if this is accurate you may find theres little difference between the new card and old in COD BLOPS 6 even when its working as intended.

Just tempering expectations a little :)

Just a quick update, we uninstalled it with DDU in safe mode and still are having the same issues as before. I’m going to try once more and see if I maybe missed a step to select.

Other than that, is it possible that maybe it’s a defective GPU?Here’s a picture of the in game benchmark
