Formatting SSD Questions

Hi guys. I got my new laptop and installed one of the 4TB SSDs from my previous laptop, but have not formatted it yet. When I went to start format, it asked me if i want to compress files and folders, should I do that on the 2nd SSD? Also, would a quick format be ok? Help greatly appreciated 🙂
