Eyes of Hellfire Key Art.jpg

I once read somewhere—on the internet, so it must be true—that your eyes have a thing called 'immune privilege.' In essence, your body's immune system lets your eyes get away with all sorts of stuff because if it behaved normally, causing swelling and/or high temperatures when your eyes got poorly, there's a risk it'd interfere with your vision or damage your eyesight long-term.

Which is cool. Anyway, I mention this because I think even your immune system would have to drop that laissez-faire attitude if you developed Eyes of Hellfire, which is both a painful Biblical curse and a co-op horror videogame out of Blumhouse. You and up to four friends (outrageous; who has four friends?) find yourselves trapped in the headquarters of the Hellfire Club, based on real-life Irish legends of a fancy-yet-sinister secret society, and must explore until you find your way out. Also, don't die. Not dying is a prerequisite to escaping.

Sound interesting? Great, because we've partnered up with Blumhouse to give away 500 (count 'em: 500) codes for Eyes of Hellfire. Between August 29 and September 9, 500 lucky forums users can get their hands on a code for the game. Oh, and fear not: you don't also need four lucky friends to stand a chance of playing—if you own a copy of it on Steam, you can use the Friend's Pass to get your pals in on the action.

To claim your code, start by:

  • Comment in this thread and tell us your favorite co-op moment in gaming history.
  • Follow the instructions in our Gleam widget to claim your code.
    • (Make sure you read the terms and conditions in the Gleam widget, too!)
We only have 500 codes, so don’t wait!

My Best Co-Op Moment is when I played Lethal Company with my two friends where when the day was over and we were heading back to the ship where our supposed friend should've been..

we found his body lying on the ground with 2 Blind Dogs standing on top of it. Inside our ship.

We lost our 4th Quota that day 😔🥀

(btw Gleam Link is not working for me)

Had a good ol' time with some online friends playing the first Risk of Rain. We somehow managed to get the port forwarding nonsense working and had a whale of a time, cramming more than 4 players I believe into the game.

Sadly we never got to play that game together again after that.

Maybe not the best but the one I remember the most is when friend and I played A Way Out, which is generally a more serious game but we used every moment to make the most fun and at one point we were fiddling around so much that we kinda broke some segments and had a laugh for a good 20minutes

I have so many memories on DayZ and ArmA but one that stood out to me was when I was playing DayZ mod on ArmA 2 with a friend back in 2012.

We were pretty new to the DayZ mod for ArmA 2 and after many lessons (deaths) we finally found our footing and managed to stay alive long enough to break away from the shores to then break into the mainland and find good enough loot to keep us alive until my friend and I managed to see our luck tested massively.

My friend I believe was attacked by a zombie, lost a lot of blood, I think he even had a broken leg cause I remember a lot of crawling and of all the things we looted, we didn't have anything to treat his wounds with apart from a bandage which was enough to prevent death but he was so low on blood his screen was black and white, could only travel at a snails pace and kept passing out.

At this point we were just stuck in a woods outside Berezino, we knew that place had a hospital so if anywhere was gonna get my friend back up and running it was there. Unfortunately, him losing conciousness became more frequent and we just really couldn't see a way forward as I didn't want to part with him and risk losing him - he probably would have ended up dying by the time I either got to the hospital or returned. Anyway, some time shortly after I saw this white object between some trees and as we got closer I realised it was a truck! We were absolutely elated at this point, we could hopefully get out of this woods and to the hospital but even better! The truck was a medical truck and it was FILLED with everything you could think of to treat my friend, also had much better weapons and ammo, it had a full tank of fuel and all the parts were in the green, we could not believe our luck.

With my friend being back to 100% and having a truck full of supplies and weapons, we set off with it and still to this day it has been our most memorable run, we lived long enough in the end to set up a base, which at the time was just a military tent as that's all you could do haha but this was just outside the Krasnostav airfield in the north east to store everything and hide the truck. We had a few other of our friends join us and we ended up surviving for weeks, even had a helicopter to use during that time and if our friends died on their ventures, we would then pick them up where they spawned and get them back up to speed before heading out to loot places to resupply our little base so we could keep ourselves stocked up.

That story went on for a bit longer than I expected so thank you to anyone who read it, I feel like playing DayZ or ArmA now haha.

Best coop memory is my first online gaming experience: Plugging in that Xbox 360 wifi adapter for the first time and scratching the code off an Xbox Live Gold membership card then jumping into Gears of War with my best friend

I had tons of fun playing Dungeon Defenders on Xbox splitscreen with a friend. We spent so much time on it. I remember how we had to convince his parent to buy it for us because it was digital only I think.

Me and my friend were doing an everdark gaping jaw run in nightrein and the third person disconnected early on. We still won the run and it was our first time beating everdark Adel. I know it scales the bosses stats down when someone disconnects but it still felt good

Playing left 4 dead with friends and making it near the end of a level and then getting fully wiped by a tank 😅

My best moment in a co-op game was watching my friend flip our ship in Sea of Thieves over and over again trying to get off an island. We kept losing our loot and almost sunk the ship a plethora of times, but we some how wiggled ourselves out.

My favorite coop moment would be in grounded 1 when a spider attacked our camp late at night. Every reaction of fear was on display, I bolted into the woods. My buddies either picked a losing fight and died or froze in fear and died.

Favorite moment I can recall which my memory is rough! But, some of the cod co op missions were pretty decent. There was one underground submarine base that had some areas where communication with your partner was important to make multiple shots at the same times in order to not set off alarms.
