Yep, ladies and gentlemen, it has happened! Doom 1993 received a fan made ray tracing version! When I first saw this news yesterday, I was 100% sure it's a joke, but nope. It's real. :D And the game looks marvelous! Too bad it's impossible to use it along with Brutal Doom mod. It would rock even harder. For now the fist three episodes are available. This means it's the whole base Doom.

As for performance, it's good. On my RTX 2070 Super and with DLSS set on quality the game works with a stable 60 fps, although I can hear that my GPU has a lot of work. ;) Anyway, It's much better than the performance of Serious Sam ray tracing version released by the same person.

You can download the mod here: https://github.com/sultim-t/prboom-plus-rt/releases.

Now I dream about Quake 1 with ray racing. :)

I think it would've been better if it was GZDOOM, considering that we've a decent chunk of standalone IWADs (including IWADs being sold as a commercial product) that would likely benefit from such a graphical enhancement.
