Death Stranding - How do you Change/Map the Controller Buttons on PC ?

Hello

I'm using a Microsoft Xbox 360 Controller for Windows on Windows 11 - but note that I'm playing Death Stranding via EPIC (not Steam). This is about this game only.

The Controller works just fine, when I pause I see the 'Basic Controls' menu showing what all the controller buttons do etc...

See an image here

But how on earth do I change buttons/functions to buttons that are already mapped - and/or add functions to buttons that aren't mapped?

I can't find any menu system for this like in most games?

Please note - I am most interested in hearing how to change it properly/normally - in game (remember for Epic - not Steam). However, I may also be interested to a lesser degree to hear other less official ways if this can't be done?

There are some unassigned controller buttons in the Basic Controls diagram - which just have '---' listed showing they have nothing assigned.... surely I should be able to use them as well as change others too?

Any other tips re controller - let me know as I'm new to using one with pc.

Thank you for your help

Open Steam and go to Steam>Settings.
Select the Controller tab.
Click Guide button chord configuration.
A new window will open with a controller. ...
Click a button, and from the on-screen keyboard that appears, click the key you want to map it to.
