Question Dawn of Magic 1

Found my original CD. Installed it. Did the DRM bypass "Crack". Did the dg Voodoo2 patch. Compatibility in Windows 11 set to Windows XP (SP2) with Admin rights (Set in Shortcut).

When running the shortcut, I first get an error stating my Graphics drivers are older than a year. When I click ok, I get the Dawn of Magic splash screen (Very nice for its age actually) and that is where it stops. I have tried setting Affinity and priority on it but to no avail. Task manager shows the game is running.

Searched the internet and most just say "wait" (Steam DOM thread). Anyone know how this can be fixed to have a faster start-up time. Must add I am still waiting (as per the experts) so have not gotten into the game yet. been waiting about 10 minutes now. Cannot find .ini settings or any editable files that might fix it. Have not tried 3d patch or anything else apart from the ones I mentioned.

It usually takes a few tries to start up for me, but otherwise it does run. I use Win XP SP3 compatibility as one of the other modes caused some problems. I think I also had some issues with possibly broken DRM when I first installed it from DVD. You may have to resort to google for that.
