I am no longer mad at my physician, but I'm a little mad at physicians overall. I've been seeing them for cognitive decline for awhile now, and not a single one suggested a medicine change. But I understand more about why they didn't. For one thing, almost all frontline Parkinson's drugs cause cognitive decline. I don't actually have Parkinson's, but I have a mitochondrial disease (unknown) that is reacting in a similar way to Parkinson's, so they have been treating me with those drugs, which has been largely successful.

Thanks to CoPilot, I think I've now charted a way forward that doesn't involve those drugs by switching to Pramipexole and a tranquilizer like Trazadone. Pramipexole has a small chance to cause cognitive decline, but usually that goes away when you stop taking it.

I am actually stunned at the number of commonly used drugs that can cause cognitive decline; for instance, Benadryl.
I think the only thing that matters is that it is sorted and was found in time. And no one got jail time or emergency room time.

I hate doing new meds. I have PTS so am on Cilift 20mg as part of my daily routine.

Well, I wouldn't exactly say it was found in time. I've been on it for 20 years, and my cognitive function is far below what it once was. Maybe some of it will come back now, but probably not.

@Zed Clampet Reminds me of super happy-faced Christmas singing groups and it really hurts my soul watching stuff like that. I'm the last person on earth that would ever go to a concert to watch a bunch of "suuuuuuuuper happy" people spewing out noise. Reminds me why I dislike Christmas and getting rashes whenever I see Christmas products at the supermarket in September and October.

But other than that, I am perfectly mentally balanced, so say my imaginary friend locked up in the

The point was the fat woman walking behind him in her underwear. The other point, I suppose, was the guy who sounds just like Freddie Mercury. But I'll make a note that you don't like happy people.

But I'm used to this sort of thing (exaggerated emotions from performers) because I have a brother who is a professional stage actor and I've been going to musicals and other shows for the last 40 years. They are instructed to act this way because, unlike television or movies, people are farther away from them and can't see more subtle signs of emotion. My brother has also been in quite a few television shows, and he says it's sometimes difficult to go from one to the other because the acting is so different.

My life pretty much consists of eat, drink, shows, plays, concerts, gig's, jams sound checks, parties and music (and let's not forget composing, writing arranging). In-between all those I try to sleep as well.

During vocal studies you are taught to "express" your vocals by adding body movement to it. Not just that, some positions open up certain vocal possibilities. I will try and find the Celine Dion key change video to explain that in more details.

Apart from expression and positions you need to keep your audience attention. Having a guy standing in front of a Microphone singing and having a guy engaging with the audience, well, they are two different performances on its own.

I pretty much see these things every day of my life. Once an Artist are able to give a god performance Vocally (instrumentally) and visually they usually tend do go far. Artists like Kate Bush, Enya, Sara Brightman, pushes the Visual part a bit further and then become theatrical expression. Still great because now you get the impression that they are living the song.

Let me see if I can get the Celine Dion Video with regards to the key change for you. A voice expert (Teacher) explains specific body positioning with specific notes. Very interesting video if you are into things like that.

We call it whale watching.

Actually, the funniest thing about this for me is after she trundles by, I'm immediately drawn into examining the YouTubers performance.

Just watching how he's acting, what he's saying, it's all so disingenuous. I get it's his job or whatever, but damn react videos are a plague.

I think about this, semi-often. I am absolutely not a performer type; thinking of the few times I've done karaoke and I just stand there and hope no one of looking at me 😆

But also about certain bands I listen to and when the front man is purely a vocalist (no other instruments) how they must perform and how it makes everything better.

This video is interesting. Don't have time to watch the whole thing right now, but even though I don't really know anything about music, I love watching music analysis. I have several channels I'm subscribed to that talk about some of this stuff.

Honestly looks like me most mornings
Everyone looks like that every morning (From my experience) We all pretty much look like "the morning after" as shown in the movies and I wonder how some of those actors get to get out of bed and look so extremely refreshed.... Mattress? Pillows? might be an equipment fault on my side.

Wife got me a coffee mug for it a while back. Has a Cat with hairs standing in all directions and cracks in the eyes. It says in BIG BOLD LETTERS:

"Put down the coffee and walk away slowly"

It is actually odd hearing someone say that. Most (Non artist inclined) would just skip it.

So somewhere inside you there is an Artist hiding.

Karaoke................. Most think because I am a musician I can sing. I might be able to hold a note or two but singing is not my forte. I know of several bullfrogs with better voices. So Karaoke nights (Yeah I am usually invited) I get up and sing that tequila song. The one where the only word you sing/say is tequila. Nothing more and nothing less. Add to that a few dance moves and everyone thinks you are marvelous.

I sing the same song and do the same steps every karaoke and no one actually notice it, some even ask for it. LMAO

I’ve yet to see a movie or a show that accurate depicts waking up for most people. They always wake up with a nice bright smile ready to take on the day… when I wake up, I dread the BS I’m about to face throughout the day lol

Be glad knowing your wife is looking out for you. She wouldn’t want you to chop someone’s head off for touching your coffee!

@Charagma have you seen this guy before? Granted he is a beat maker but still at the highest level of musicianship for that type of music in my opinion. These days most “beats” are made using DAWs without any real equipment. This guy prides himself on using real hardware to make beats which I find incredibly interesting to watch.

I like making beats on FL Studio but just as a fun hobby, I know nothing about music theory or how to read music. Just put a drum loop over a synth loop and call it a day lol. He takes it a whole different level with it, gets super into the weeds of the machines he’s using. His videos are just edited versions of his live streams so they’re cut down a lot but each beat usually takes him an hour or longer to make.

Ever notice that in movies they do not get up with a drewl spot on their pillows? HOW!? It's gravity. Mouth open, liquid follows gravity and splat on your pillow/ Apparently only in RL. Also they show people falling asleep on keyboards......Ever noticed that the keyboard marks gets imprinted for several hours in your face. They get up with a red shine. Maybe that is why some keyboards are referred to as soft touch.....I should maybe invest in one of them, seems to work in the movies.

Old Saying.....ONLY IN THE MOVIES

She normally makes the first cuppa for the day. There after it is my problem. Considering getting one of those coffee machines to just have on my desk. Then I do not have to get up and go to the kitchen 300 times a day.

Yeah,I dunno, always been interested in Music even though I can't play it and I can't analyze it, couldn't even name a note. I took some Music theory classes in college and I found them pretty interesting. But one of my favorite guys right now on Youtube probably leans more into the comedy stuff and doesn't upload frequently, but yeah.

Yeah, I've got one song I've done a couple of times, but I can see it getting old fast. But I've also only karaoke'd twice in my life so far, so... but I do keep a list of songs that I like that might be fun to do the next time I'm invited. Though we do have a setup in our basement, but I usually don't participate.

I have seen of his things yes. For the general "eye" (Lack of a better term), it tries to make as if a DAW magically creates your music.

I am just going to touch the topis slighly, this is actually a very BIG conversation to explain everything.

Lets take a normal Floor tom (Set 1 in key C major) as an example. Do not stress much about the 1 and key C for now. That is just a DOOF. nothing fancy nothing magic but just a DOOF. Now it needs to be widened. Give the DOOF some life. So into this you will add say a Closed hi-hat (Normal and key of C). This raises the frequency of your original DOOF you had. Still DOOF but inside there is a TCHI. This is apart from your normal hi-hat you will be playing in your normal drum set.

So now we have a "DOOF in the key of C that is a "DTOCOHFII" Because we lifted the frequency the chances of it clashing with other notes are very good. So, it needs to be transposed (Taken to a different semitone) because we lifted the frequencies on the original DOOF.

As a side note here, actual drummers will have a different hi-tom to overcome the frequency problem) Hence multiple drums on a kit to be able to bypass this problem. Bigger the drum set the closer you get.

Now if we do something like say a "Trap" mix. We start with that same DOOF (Original one), we add a bit of a reverb (Just a touch) add a Cello (one octave lower) and a bass guitar on lowest octave. and play all three together. Now you get a "stretched" sub bass.

And with these two examples we simply did two Bass drum notes. On average you have around 160 to 200 beats per song, so you write a few loops and then "rinse and repeat" them.

SO do not get me wrong, Guy is good at his trade and being a musician would never say that a DAW replaced musical instruments. For me to record a drum session and make it flawless will take about 5 days. Recording it 3 times and then splicing the best pieces.

On a DAW I can have a drum session in MIDI within 2 hours and no need to record or splice.

I must add I use my DAW very seldom, merely use it for my filters and compressors. I personally use notation software. Physically entering each note onto each instrument. Makes it harder yes but makes me feel closer to being an actual musician.

Hope it clears the DAW thing up a bit. Much more involved than what most people think.

Edit: LMAO forgot to add. FL Studio beats are great. Even if yuo do not know notation, have a look at Muse Score (just std. full drum set). It's free. See how you change beats by adding different instruments to it. You will be amazed what difference 4 instruments at the same pitch can do to a Beat.

I make a lot of time for all kinds of artists. Paradies is about as far as I go, but this I cannot place it in a category. I want to say parody, but it is not there.....yet, close but no cigar.

I am just wondering who does their tracks because I hear/see millions of Copyright violations in one song. A very scary road to walk on. It cannot be called a cover, cannot be called a parody and is definitely not an original......

Truely do not know if I like it. Least the instrumental guys are doing well so give credit where credit is due. (LMAO)

Art comes in many forms, shapes and sizes.

Music theory presented the wrong way can push people away from music. Anyone can read a note and if you can count you can play about 16 chords already without having any musical training or background. (Will show you that trick someday LMAO).

Sorry it is Friday so apart from my house looking like an airport, my car thinks she is part of the government public transport fleet.

[Truncated Charagma style] LMAO

We need to talk sometime about your beats. I can do rhythm and an average Joe drummer, Too heavy for church and too light for bands (LMAO).

So most of my beats are pure repetiveness. Maybe sometime you can throw some ideas my way or we can share Ideas. I know how to tweak settings, frequencies and audio but making a beat is something I am not good at. If you listen to my things, you will not it is 1. has a drum roll, 2. has a set beat, has a change up somewhere.

You play with FL Studio, maybe I can give some tips that can help. I use Cubase but ultimately, they are the same cold drink just with different labels.

Do you pay for something you can do yourself?

Parts of what happened tonight.

There is a weekend DJ show in my town and was booked to do sound check on Friday night (Tonight) so that everything can be set for stage opening Saturday morning. Paid job so I have every Alarm to remind me switched to ON.

Got there and eventually found the Sound Engineer sitting with wires in front of him. The Stage Techy and Gopher standing behind him watching him work........(I Lift one eyebrow but carry on)

Eventually he was done and we started sound checking. Part of that is ensuring the best audio anywhere in the "crowd" area which is called the sound stage. I got back to him and told him "We need to extend the sound stage a bit; we are having too much reverb at the rear of the stage" Must add this is not a very hard thing to do since you simply adjust it with 1 slider. He refused and said: "The seats at the back are cheap seats if they want better sound they should buy better tickets" (Raised 2nd eyebrow).

I walked over to the Manager, got my money and left. In my head job done and not my problem. Sound Engineer said I am not needed anymore.

I pretty much just got home when I got a call from the Manager asking me what happened. (Someone must have said something). Gave him the breakdown of event, which he accepted, and he said he will call me if he needs me over the weekend. Not even an hour later the Sound engineer calls and asks if I can come back to finish the work I got paid for.

I am not going to allow getting a reputation for someting like that so returned to the stadium and went straight to the manager. From there the manager called the sound engineer in for a meeting.

Resolution, Sound Stage is adjusted, few tweaks done on HF and got paid a second time out of the Sound engineer's pocket. (They decided on that I would have happily done it for them for free)

Was a good night and to think if he just accepted what I told him the first time he would have had an easier life with the rest of the tour. LMAO.

Still on standby over the weekend but it's nice to get paid twice for the same job.
