My daughter came to visit her dad this weekend, so it wasn't her

Ranger story: They have two large caves in the park. One of them has been mapped out, the other one hasn't because it's considered too dangerous and difficult to navigate. The University of North Carolina came out and put sensors in the cave that isn't mapped, presumably because they knew no one would disturb them. I don't know what they were studying with the sensors, but this cave is very hard to explore. There are large sections of Army crawling as well as other challenges. A few months later, the university called the park and asked them if they could send the sensors back, so the park asked them if they had mapped out where they put the sensors, but they hadn't, so my daughter was sent to try to recover them (my daughter was designated as the spelunker who takes guests through the mapped cave). Apparently she was in the cave for several hours, and she found all but one of the sensors and miraculously, to me, found her way back out of the cave. They told the school if they wanted the last sensor, they would have to come get it themselves
So did you get to use all the stuff you printed out?
Seems like they ought to have had their own people go in there to get
their stuff and not the Rangers, jeeze. I'd be kind of pissed off if I were her.
I did get to use pretty much all the stuff I printed. Unfortunately, my one buddy lost interest in the game because it was taking quite a long time. Which is definitely an issue with Battletech; it's not hard necessarily, just takes awhile because there's lot of bookkeeping. But there were 3 of us playing, so...
I'm not sure what would be involved in that. I can picture several options that all get thwarted by caves being impossible to traverse for bots or because it's impossible to communicate while buried under tons of rock. I suppose I could get around those barriers, but this is a project that would be better undertaken by the military since there's no money in it

But maybe we could convince them that they could use it to map out underground bunkers?
Wired drones? They still do this with submersibles, I believe.
This should just be more of a general penalty, honestly. Do something stupid on the road? Firing Squad. Try to use an Out of Order gas pump? Firing Squad. Say something stupid to a Cashier? Firing Squad.
Been kind of a busy week getting all my stuff sorted after camping. Ultimately, at the last minute also decided to go to this Tournament happening tomorrow. I had decided not to go a few weeks ago, because I just didn't feel like being obligated to paint stuff I've been working on. But got an email on Monday or Tuesday from the TO saying he only had 7 sign-ups and asking if anyone else still wanted to come.
Well, I know the TO lives about an hour away (been to a several of his tournaments now and played him personally at a different one he didn't setup) and I know he works hard to set these things up because it's a passion of his, so I figured I might as well suck up my whiny butt and go. But what really cinched it is that I looked at my other army, which was fully painted and realized I could easily field a list with what I had, which meant no painting, so why not? It'll be my whole day Saturday, but it should be fun. Plus I'm excited to get my 1942-era British 8th Army on the table again, it's been awhile.
Edit: Also ordered the army book I need to for them and had it delivered overnight from Amazon. Unfortunately, gotta send the thing back, because wouldn't you know it, this "new" book has quite a few scuffs on it
and smells like chewing tobacco.
