I actually bought a portable bidet!
Didn't know these existed. Now I'm buying one...
Leaves of three, let it be!!
Oddly enough, I'm not allergic to it, but everyone in my wife's family gets it really badly, so I get to be the poison ivy remover whenever I go to my in-laws who all live in wooded areas

One simple luxury that I tend to take for granted is fast charging USB-C blocks. I use an older USB-A "slow" charger for my phone at the office, and my goodness it's slow as hell. It took an hour and a half to go from 20% to 80%.

That's not too bad, if I plug my phone into the USB port of my old PC it charges maybe 10% in an hour. Whereas my laptop has a USB port that actually charges my phone as fast as your "slow" charger.

I'll pass, but thanks for the thought!

I've been a dry climate boy my whole life, I don't particularly care for humidity. It rained here last night and was humid for about an hour and I was miserable the entire time!

Victor

VTR-9B
1x AC20
2x MLas
1x SRM4

It's not the best Assault mech, but it is fast and has Jump Jets.

The victor with a ac20 or uac 20 and 3 s4ms is the one to drive.. the one with 3 ac10s is also great, though i prefer a slightly bigger enhine and 2 ac 10s+ uac 5.

Say what you want about AI. Get hysterical about it like PC Gamer. But CoPilot saved my arse once again and, beyond that, is probably the most pleasant entity on the planet to talk to.

Except there is no coginitive proccess. How many people die trusting, google maps? Its far more than you think, making, and thats barely ai.

The amount of people that blindly trust an internet search is just expanding 10 fold with it

job loss, bad actors messing with it causing damage on purpose, people just believing what ever it says. Then top it off with using it in nefarious ways, like using it to colate mass data to profile people or even worse are just tips of the ice berge.

Unrestricted ai is going to massively screw over a huge portion of the population. Im not sure how long its going to take, but we are already seeing hugely negitive effects from people and bots on the internet, ai fakes are going to ramp that up to 100. Just look at how fast a simple algorithm had people beleive that white farmers were being killed in africa, or imigrants were eating cats/geese (the cat was found and it was actually a white guy hunting geese) and that was just an ai algorithm.

The sad thing people are more woried about passing laws to make sure a kid doesnt see a boob verse, i dunno stopping the oceans from dying, so i dont have much faith that anything will be done.

The good news is, if we screw stuff up bad enough, we know it only takes about 50 million years for the earth to recover, so maybe a higher life form will get another chance :p

Maybe changing the logo and interiors was not such a wizard move. That logo is pretty ugly compared to the old one, to the point of looking like something you made in PowerPoint in under a minute or so.

Shame they changed the font as well. The 2nd K looks better the way it was.
Its part of a rebrand as well, its not just today they going down

they bounced back from 2020 but 2021 was the last time they were near their peak, they lost over half of their stock price in 4 years. So perhaps they thought they needed to modernise?

It is a rather plain label compared to what they had.

What kind of battery life do you get out of a Wireless keyboard
I've been using Logitech G915 Lightspeed for the past two years and the battery life on is insane! I use it for several hours each day, and it takes somewhere between 1.5-2 weeks to charge, depending on whether I charge it when the software informs me of low battery (at around 15%) or wait for it to go lower. I also use RGB light on the lowest setting. It also looks nice, has good keys and is very sturdy. It's expensive, but you also get quality that lasts.

Looks like they thought wrong, or at least went a bit overboard with changing up their core identity. I don't know much about the company, but just looking at some pictures from old to new restaurant, it basically looks like a generic restaurant.

I know as much about them as you do.

Seems they feeling the pinch, they changed decor last year
Now the dumbed down the logo. I have a feeling they on the way out.

They simplified decor last year to make it cheaper to make new stores. Its lost all its charm. No idea what food is like...
Seems the food is hit and miss, mostly miss. Maybe the cost cutting it showing its face there as well.
this was the old decor. At least it had personaility

Could be the new CEO wants to be surrounded by customers who aren't as old as her grandmother

They are struggling due to post Covid inflation. A number of the largest US chain restaurants like Red Lobster, Hooters and TGI Fridays have declared bankruptcy, and several others, like Outback, are on the verge. People are still eating out, but they are going to cheaper restaurants, place like Chipotles or one of the fast food chains. The fact that Cracker Barrel isn't in any real financial danger is pretty impressive all things considered.

And this is just speculation, but since the start of Covid people seem to have started to support local restaurants over the big chains.

I don't mind paying a little extra to support local shops. I'm also the last person you would ever see at places like Burger King, Starbucks, or McDonald's. We also have some larger Norwegian food chains and I also hate those, especially since one of them took over the place of one of my favorite old brown pubs AND the local art cinema. They can all crash and burn for all I care, bunch of money-grabbing dirtbags!

My main problem with full-service chains is that their food tastes like it was designed by a marketing team to be as generic and bland as possible. That didn't used to be the case with Cracker Barrel. But you can get better tasting food at Burger King and McDonald's than at a full-service chain restaurant. Sure, McDonald's soaks its french fries in bizarre chemicals for a week, but at least they taste good.

I have noticed a trend with a lot of products like chips getting more and more spices in them. I wonder if they do this so you can't taste that it does not actually taste like a potato anymore. I eat a bag of chips now and it feels like I am just eating different crunchy spices. Some flavoring is nice, but it's getting kind of ridiculous and it seems to be heavily promoted with titles like: "Insane spicy" Heavy grill flavor" Hot flavored super mix" and whatnot. I wonder what it actually does to our taste buds after some years...

I only eat chips on New Years Eve, but I always get the plain. They can keep all their weird flavors.

Guilty as charged but not regretting it.

In another thread with regards to Game music

Kaamos_Llama

Posted a video for Expedition 33.

I listened to the video a few times and must add that I liked it since I am in the music industry. I do not do the "Blind Reaction". Kept my mouth shut and carried on.

I in general do not like YT music videos since most of the time it has quality loss etc, but I listened through what I could find on YT (8 Hours' worth of game music) and listened to all of them intently on inferior audio quality. Eventually I just had to hear it on Studio quality it ate me alive not being able to hear everything I want to hear. Trust me, Audio works like DATA entry. It works on the "GIGO" system. It stands for "Garbage in - Garbage out" So playing a bad recording through a "proper" audio system does not magically fix the audio.

So, to my Guilty as charged part.

I purchased "Clair Obscur: Expedition 33", knowing that my PC would never be able to run it, just so that I can legally have the OST for it. Yes, all 8hours of it. (Do not tell the wife since she thinks I purchased a software upgrade on one of my software's.) It is the most I have ever paid for an Album and would like to thank Kaamos Llama for spending my money on my behalf. Money well spent and just so that you know, after converting all the songs to FLAC and running it through the system it sounds a million times better. I am not going to go into all kinds of Fancy termenology etc, just wanted to say Thanks.

Depending on where you're at, there's heaps of options these days to. Even some fancier chains in many places that are now of a similar cost to the older style of chain. I'm not see how ubiquitous First Watch is, but it's a pretty good breakfast style chain and the food is definitely better than whatever Chili's is microwaving at a similar cost.

I always liked Cracker Barrel, but couldn't tell you the last time I'd been there. Well over a decade, at least.

We don't get to go out very often these days, so when we do, we usually pick something a little different. But we live in a city with a large immigrant population, so there's always something different around here.

Knoxville is pretty solid on restaurants. Used to be tied with San Francisco for restaurants per capita. But it just can't compare to the bigger cities I've lived in for ethnic food. And the woman who ran my favorite Chinese restaurant passed away. She was an awesome lady who never passed up a chance to pick on Guido. Her sister took over the restaurant, but it isn't any good now. Now I need to start a life journey to find good egg rolls again...Just asked CoPilot and it gave me a list of 8 places to try for egg rolls, although one of them is the place I used to go to, and the inclusion of Asia Cafe makes me think this list is pretty faulty, but I'll try a couple near the top of the list.

I don't think that's a post by Microsoft, that seems to just be a CoPilot response.
Oh yeah, I see it now. I never use the browser. But despite my confusion, I'm going to follow Internet protocol and argue my position anyway, and say that CoPilot is owned by Microsoft and therefore it was a post by Microsoft. :p

Although now I'm wondering if AI Psychosis is actually real or just something CoPilot made up...
