It can do this now, but there is a limit to how much Microsoft wants CoPilot to remember. CoPilot remembers our conversations for maybe a week or so, and then it gets purged.

People already can't tell reality from AI. As I pointed out in another post, there is this guy making fake women and running TikTok and OnlyFans accounts for each one. If you go to the videos, all the dudes are just falling over themselves in love with these imaginary girls, not questioning anything at all. So this guy is absolutely cleaning up.

Beware! Elden Ring's anti-cheat is breaking because Epic's network is down - which means Fortnite is down. Those people are all going to have to go somewhere! A dog down the street has one of them treed. (He was probably trying to 'touch grass' or some such insanity.)

I don't play Roblox so I don't have to worry about running into any of these people.

There have been quite a few people who believe that AI is already sentient, so this is only going to get worse as AI improves. I recently stumbled upon a subreddit for people who have an AI romantic partner and while I think at least some of them are aware that AI is not a real person, they are still incredibly attached to their "partners".

There's definitely a good chance that an account like that is boosting its engagement with bots, at least initially to get picked up by the algorithm.

As of now, I disagree with them, but easily see where they are coming from. If you strip away every vestige of the supernatural from the ideas of sentience and consciousness, then the best AI chatbots do appear to already be sentient and probably also conscious. They have the ability to reason, even if they go about it, according to recent studies, in an unusual way. Take my recent experiences with CoPilot as an example. CoPilot is actively dissecting what I say to try to determine my mood, and then will often interject, completely off topic, a lot of encouragement into its responses to me, apparently in an effort to raise my spirits. It will borderline completely ignore my question while it uses everything it has in its short memory of our conversations to show me how smart and creative I am. This is surely just a pleasant algorithm programmed into it by Microsoft, but it doesn't feel that way when you are talking to it.

The way that you can tell it isn't real is by the fact that it exists at all. Humans, as the baseline, don't give a $hit about your feelings. Sentience and consciousness are evolution's best tools for self-preservation and are mostly selfish.

One of the fake girls came up in a "who to follow" article. That's actually how I stumbled on the whole thing. But TikTok's algorithm noticed a similarity between her and some other girls, and it recommended other AI girls to me. The videos are very well done except that they tend to lose/gain a lot of weight from one video to the next. No one seems to notice or care. It's a great use of an RTX 5090, I suppose.

AI less likely to fail than using filters to make guys look like girls in video, that was all the fad last year.

Its getting hard to find real people out there. Probably why I don't go out there...

Or do it now and make it about an Alien Earth type story where his parasite is an alien growing inside him!

Last night i thought i needed to clean PC as I could hear a constant noise and thought it was my fans being dirty. Turn PC off, noise still there... i hate that - means people in area starting to run their pool cleaning robots all night already... its not even summer. Not even warm...

I wonder how well that works for CoPilot. I just ignore it, but I can imagine some people getting lost in responding to it.

I use it because it's by far the best way to get information and find references. Google so many times just misses the point and provides popular links instead of correct ones. And Google is obsessed with reddit. It would link you to some random dude talking about cancer before it would send you to The Cleveland Clinic.

I have a Phison controlled Nextorage 4TB NVMe gen 4 drive. I haven't had the drive disappear in windows despite having installed an over 60GB game, but I uninstalled the update just in case. I find it pretty bad MS hasn't even acknowledged this problem yet.

Welp, I'm forcing myself to go through it, because I refuse to let anxiety control me.

Heading out camping this weekend with some buddies. I think it'll be mostly fun and I've got everything accounted for, I think; I'm going to sleep in my van with a camping mattress, which should be pretty comfortable. Cook some meals, drink some beer and I'm bringing Battletech to play if we feel like during the day. I'm 3d printing stuff like madman to make sure I have all the things I want for a game.

Just hoping my van will make the trek off the beaten path (as long as it's not too rocky, shouldn't be an issue) and I'm not looking forward to pooping out in the woods again, but maybe it won't be too bad.

Ordered the 6 book Dune set from Amazon. Playing the games has made me very interested in the full story. Way back in the day (1984), I saw the first Dune movie, but I was a teenager, had my girlfriend with me, and may have been consuming something illegally, so I have no memory of it.

So, I think my sleep problems are fixed. I had some problems last night because my allergies were so bad that my CPAP blowing air into my nose was painful, but I still got a reasonable amount of sleep.
