I totally want to.

There's a camera for like $25 on Amazon that will fit in the Unimog I posted earlier in the thread. It'll connect to my phone, so I can watch that way.

My brother in law bought a DJI camera to connect to his RC Basher car using FPV. Unfortunately, it was kind of a janky solution and ended up not lasting.

And I could definitely get my cat. The Unimog has a two speed transmission and is surprisingly fast; jogging speed, really.
It might be interesting if you could find an area obscured from total view to rock crawl, the cam could help you negotiate the terrain. Or just set up an obstacle course, face the other direction, and do a semi blind challenge using just the cam.

I definitely want to try it out. I just need to convince my wife it's worth spending the money on...

Especially when, for the money, it essentially takes the place of a possible upgrade for one of my trucks. Although, one of my trucks is already quite upgraded; I think I'd need to figure out a platform to have the camera sit on for that one though.

Going on a mini-vacation in July to Nashville and I'm getting really excited. We're mainly going to see Lord Huron in concert, but we will have an extra day to explore the city. I'm not a huge country music fan, but I appreciate and respect the history, it's all very interesting and there's lots of it there of course. Also, I'm not sure if this is a super touristy thing to do, but I'd love to get some real Nashville hot chicken lol. Still figuring out things we're going to do.
I don't go to Nashville much, but I know a forum where about 10,000 people from Nashville post, and they live to give people recommendations. And the best part is you don't even have to talk to them yourself because it's a paid site.

Tell me what types of things you would like to get recs on, and I'll ask them. Original Nashville Hot is on my list.

Thanks! We’re only there for a total of 24 hours from when we arrive to when we leave, and we’re staying downtown right off of Broadway, so after the concert we’ll definitely go have a few beers. Besides that we need things to do that’s really close to the central downtown area that’s open on a Saturday morning/early afternoon. Hot Chicken will most likely be the first thing we seek out.

Alrighty. I'll try to keep them in line and interpret the results for you. Sometimes they pivot from making good recommendations to virtue signaling, where they are making recommendations that they think makes them look rich or cultured or manly (not everyone can be me:p), etc. but I've been reading their nonsense for at least 25 years and can whip them back in line :ROFLMAO:

@neogunhero

Here are the recs:

Nashville Hot chicken: They recommend Princes in the Food Hall which is on Broadway.

Top recommended other restaurant in the area: Adele’s. Also Assembly Food Hall where Princes is has lots of good restaurants. As expected they also ignored me and recommended a few places that I looked up and the price of an average meal was listed from $100 to $200. I suppose the club sandwich is probably $100. These restaurants are also mostly in the wrong area, but they had to recommend them so everyone would know that they eat there. If you would like this list of aspirational restaurants, let me know.

Top Recommended Attractions: There are a ton in the area, including the Country Music Hall of Fame and the Johnny Cash Museum. The whole area is basically an attraction. Someone I fully trust said to take a tour of Ryman, that it was very good.

Here's a nice downtown map. It's kind of out-of-date, but it will give you an idea of the area.

As a side note: They said you would likely see a restaurant called Hattie B's that is sort of famous for hot chicken, but they said don't go to that one. They said the one on Broadway is not nearly as good as the other Hattie B's.

Speaking of travel, looks like we're heading to Chicago this summer for a family reunion type thing. My kids will be excited to fly again (they haven't stopped asking since they flew for the first time last year) and I'll be anxious as hell about it myself.

Never used to bother me, but something changed in the last 12 or so years, dunno what.

I'm the same way. I used to fly weekly when I was an auditor, but now I feel like I would have a lot of anxiety. My wife said we should fly out to San Diego. I told her to tell me what time she was landing in San Diego, and I would leave early and pick her up in the car.

I definitely would prefer not to fly at all, but it's just so convenient and I just remind myself that I'm not necessarily being rational. Not that it helps anytime the plane shakes in the air. Ugh.

Just glad it'll only be once (well, twice I guess, given the return trip) this year. Last year it was three or four times. Funnily enough, the 9 hour flight I was on was way less anxiety inducing than the short ones.

Having regrets.

Went to see my Brother-in-Law and his band play last night and ended-up discovering one of my favorite bands is in town next week and go figure, there was a guy in a different band that's playing that show, selling tickets for it at this show last night.

I bought one, given it was like half-price and I feel like I have to make the effort to go see my favorite, since I was literally just wondering the other day when they were coming back.

But ugh, between the beer I had last night and all the standing, I'm in rough shape. Woke-up at 2:30am and haven't been back to sleep and given my arthritic knees, they are absolutely killing me, even after three Ibuprofen. Really making me regret this ticket purchase and having to stay-up and out even later next Saturday.

On the upside, my Brothers-in-Law will be going with me. I had intended to go alone, as no one likes my music, but they're usually pretty game for whatever, so they decided to buy tickets and tag along and for only $25, it was an easy impulse purchase.

Also, I discovered my Venmo account has (had) $275 in it. I kind of just assumed Venmo automatically deposited money into my bank account and never paid close attention, so it's like receiving a sudden windfall. I'm going to do my best not to blow it, but I have been thinking that I'd buy Kingdom Come 2 once I sell my other laptop, so that may end-up coming sooner than later.

Either those beers are WAY stronger than I'm thinking, which is unlikely given America's very weak alcohol level laws for beer, or you had a LOT of them. My point is, a whole week ought to be enough to recover. Just lay down and elevate your legs regularly. Another thing that helps that I learned from when I was in track eons ago, is to do a lactic acid massage on your legs. You do this by raking your muscles with your fingertips, applying firm pressure. You want to pull up toward your torso on your calves and quads. This can also improve circulation, which can help alleviate pain from inflammation. Treating inflammation with Ibuprofen is like a vicious cycle. You end up needing more and more of it as your body becomes less effected by it, and it is hard on your stomach.

I have TWO MAJOR COMPLAINTS regarding grocery store food that I'd like to see fixed immediately!

1) "Homestyle" mashed potatoes. Lumpy mashed potatoes that have bits of potato peel in them are a cooking error. Quit trying to sell me low quality food. I've never had anyone serve me (outside of restaurants) mashed potatoes like that, and if they had, they would have apologized about it.

2) "Butter flavor". Unless you are selling me popcorn, I don't want your crappy fake butter on my food. I'm perfectly capable of drowning your low effort garbage in real butter if I choose to do that

****

I didn't feel the topic would add much to the community
If I followed that philosophy...

I suppose you don't eat the skins from a baked potato either?

Not really.
So somehow you think mashed potatoes and baked potatoes are the same thing. Something tells me your family doesn't know how to make either.
Anyway, when making homemade mashed potatoes my family has never peeled the potatoes before mashing them up. But I guess some of are heathens and some of us are not. :)
Hey, I was right!
