So I'm not the most educated on PC components so please feel free to correct me.

I have an Alienware steam machine, that's been converted from Linux to Windows. I know its a pretty outdated system. But looking at the system requirements for Mount And Blade bannerlord i feel like i should be able to run it above minimum requirements. but when I went on canIrunit.com it says i cant run it at all.

I have an Nvidia GTX 970
Intel Core i7 4785t CPU @ 2.20 gigahertz
8gb RAM
Windows 10

Minimum requirements for bannorlord
Nvidia GeForce GTX 660 2GB
Intel core I3 8100
6 GB RAM
Windows 7

Am i missing something? Or is Canirunit.com not a trustworthy source?

I have similiar specs (i5 4690K + GTX 970, 16 GB RAM, Windows 7) and I am able to run Bannerlord without much issues so far - mind you i wasn't in any big battle yet, no idea if CPU would be sweating there. The only nit-pick I have is loading times, mostly because there's sooo many loading screens - but part of that is my fault as I don't have game installed on SSD.

No, you should definitely be able to run it. a GTX 970 is still way ahead of a 660. However, your CPU is probably slightly behind the i3 8100, which is why canirunit failed you, probably. So you should be able to play it. However, you will be bottlenecked by your CPU, but because your GPU is above min specs, you are fine.
