Hi all,

I recently went back to the US to visit family. My nephew plays Call of Duty Cold War. We played on his Xbox and it was fun. Now I'm back in Japan. He wants to play with me online (multiplayer).

Here are my computer's specs:

Lenovo IdeaCentre Mini 01IRH8
Processor
Installed RAM
Graphics
13th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-13700H 2.40 GHz
16.0 GB (15.6 GB usable)
Intel(R) UHD Graphics

Is this OK?

Thanks!

You're a noob question.

Joking aside, no, it won't do. Your graphics are integrated and those choke on even simple 3D games. Your processor and memory are fine, but generally integrated graphics are not for gaming like that. There are some that might get you by, but it's not likely.

Sorry.

I tried to read that post, but I got completely lost! I didn't understand most of what I was reading.

I downloaded the game and played it for a bit. It ran fine, but the fan was definitely working. No crashing, so different than the poster said would happen. So, now I'm confused even more. Should I reduce the graphics settings in the game to help out my graphics card, or should I buy an external graphics card and plug it into my Thunderbolt 4 slot?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

You can find the spec for your mini-pc here. They are pretty nice, apart from not having a dedicated GPU.

The 13700H CPU is the best one in the range and has Intel Iris Xe
integrated graphics if it uses dual channel memory. That is if it has 2 memory modules. Otherwise it defaults to the less powerful UHD graphics. It does support up to 32gb of memory so you probably only one memory module.

If you go the eGPU route your looking at least $100-$200 for the enclosure. Then add in a power supply. If you pair that with a RTX4060 for $300 then your not far off building a whole new budget 1080p system.

I had a quick look on newegg and a good prebuilt 1080p system can be around $800. That has 32gb of DDR4 and a 4060 and your paying for the OS.

I'm sure you could build a new system for a lot less than that, especially in Japan.

Might want to look at a good PC handheld like the Steam Deck or the Lenovo Go. They are very affordable and can play just about everything.
