ASUS ROG G701VI OC Edition, how much worth today?

Hello, probably its time to update my gaming laptop, bought it on 2017, when GTX 1080 was one of the newest by then. Its an ASUS ROG G701VI OC Edition, really a great machine with the following main specs:

17.3" 120Hz G-SYNC VR Ready, NVIDIA GTX 1080 8GB, 7th-Gen Intel Core i7-7820HK, 64GB DDR4, 2 x512GB PCIe SSD

But how much is worth now? I spent $3,500 but today I think will cost not more than $1,500 as a used machine. No luck getting info from Ebay or other sites..

With all due respect a laptop is obsolete the moment the laptop is purchased(considering that the parts inside are bespoke, apart from the ram storage and the thermal paste). Compared to a desktop, the resale value on it isn't that great even if we're going through a supply/demand crunch.

Thanks for your answer, I understand and mainly on laptops. But what would be an approximate price you would pay for a machine like this? In between $1,000 - $1,500 I think is reasonable to charge..
