Would this be a decent build?

Hello! I'm planning to build my first ever PC so I'm completely new to the scene, although I've tried to do as much research as possible.
I'd like some feedback on my plan, to make sure I'm getting good value. Most of the games I play rn don't need that much power (silksong, rainworld, celeste) however I do really want to be able to play games such as Reanimal, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, and Baldur's Gate 3 without my computer blowing up
-Budget is £1500 (around $2000) excluding RAM
-Focusing more on functionality (gaming and sometimes drawing) than aesthetics
-Already bought the RAM, I ordered it before Micron announced the shutdown of crucial
-Have a preference towards AMD since I've heard it's good for Linux and I want to try it out sometime
-I do have a partspicker set up but it gets flagged as a 'suspicious link'
  • AMD Ryzen 7 7700X (£223)
  • gigabyte AUROS WATERFORCE II (£75)
  • MSI B650 gaming plus wifi atx am5 motherboard (£134.5)
  • Klevv CRAS C910 1TB M.2 2280 (£80)
  • PowerColor Hellhound OC Radeon RX 9070 (£560)
  • Phanteks XT PRO ULTRA ATX Mid tower case (£75)
  • MSI MAG A750GL PCIE5 750W fully modular ATX power supply (£80)
  • Asus ProArt Display 27" 75Hz monitor (£200)

    Running total- £1427.5
If any other information is needed please ask, I'll try my best to provide! Sorry if this isn't the place to ask this sort of question, lmk if not

This one with latest gen processor, much better monitor, newer motherboard, bigger NVME, bigger PSU if needed in the future is not much more.

No need for the expensive water cooler, this one is really good for cheaper.

What did you pick up?

I would avoid Asus and ASRock boards for the time until they sort themselves out and lean on MSI or Gigabyte boards. If you're going with a 9000 series processor, logical route would be to get onboard B850 chipset, you don't need an X series chipset. If you're looking at an matx build, you can look at the B850M Mortar or MPower boards from MSI, conversely if you'd like an atx build, look at the B850 Tomahawk or Edge Titanium boards.

That fair I didnt realize Asrock boards were having problems. Seems to be X3D chips on x870 boards mostly but still worth avoiding.

The boards you suggested are significantly more expensive, would you recommend any Gigabyte or MSI boards closer to £150 ? I picked the Asrock based on Techspots B850 board roundup.

X chipset really only needed if you using dual ccd X3D CPU to make sure the right bank of cores is used in games. I got one as for a while I was contemplating a 9950X3D

The Asrock problem could be BIOS settings from the latest I saw, but easier to just avoid doubt and use Gigabyte or MSI. Neither of which is perfect but won't kill my CPU (I hope)

Buying ram before the motherboard can be risky if its not supported fully by board. Knowing what you have would make choosing a board easier.

I don't know prices in UK but the
Gigabyte B850 Gaming X Wifi6e - https://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/B850-GAMING-X-WIFI6E-rev-1x/sp (Gigabyte website playing up or I show front page)
is a mid range ATX motherboard that supports the CPU he is looking at, or the 9000 series one suggested.

Micron not listed in the QVL on that board - https://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/B850-GAMING-X-WIFI6E-rev-1x/support#support-memsup
But Micron have checked it themselves
so if your ram showing its all good.
