When will PC hardware get exciting again?

I think it is pretty exciting at the moment with options for building a fairly affordable PC with nice peripherals and modest gaming performance. When MicroLED and OLED HDR monitors become the norm and 100hz + at 4k + ray tracing becomes a reality on mid range cards gaming will become very immersive and realistic. At the moment, the next step up is a bit too expensive.

Totally agree! Third time building a pc and I was stunned by the choice and complexity of 2019/20!The value/performance ratios have never been better.

I haven’t spent any more money this time round than I did 5 years ago on last build and I have a much better pc with more options for future upgrades.

it's competitive again to say the Least. there's more than enough power there...more you'll never use with current software...we even have a hard time slowing the 2600x still 12threads at 4.2...and that's ez to runnn....
