what do you use for screen shots

I just went onto imgur to post some screen shots here and it appears that since 30 september all united kingdom users are now no longer allowed to use imgure.

In their support page you only have pull down topic tabs and no " my topic is not here tab " so i cant ask why they stopping united kingdom users.

I saw that recently and did think of you when I saw it.

instead of paying protection money... I mean, a fine, they just blocked your country

This makes me miss Gyazo, which apparently is still around but I haven't used it in a good 8 years and I doubt it's still the exact same. It allowed you to create a screenshot/snip out a small section of your screen and it would immediately upload it to their server and gave you the image link instantly. It was the most simple and effective screenshot tool I've ever used for sharing online. I try not to use Imgur much as an American just because the site seems like it is trying to hide the upload function if you're not a registered user and it wanting to be a social media site.

I find it easier to upload directly to the forum using the Media tab on the left and copy-pasting the BB code link it generates.

I use my hard drive!

If you want to show them here, use the media section. It's pretty easy. The links don't work so well from outside, though, except for people who already log in to these forums.

Steam is another option. Just use their system to upload your screenshot. You'll have to mess around with the different URLs you'll get (one goes to your profile, one goes directly to the image itself) but they work.

Profile version (looks better, but not a good option if you don't want the world to know which Steam profile is yours):

Just the image:

Imgur used to be easy to upload and manage a lot of things. Doesn't mean they're the only ones out there that allow you to host images. DropBox is another site. I once had a plethora of images on a PhotoBucket before they decided to go behind a paywall for the smallest of files. I had to actively replace all images with one's newly uploaded onto Imgur.

As was sounded off by my colleague above, you can use a VPN to gain access to Imgur if you really needed it.
