What controller do you use?

I haven't used it for a while, I assume its still at 100% charge as its got 40 hours.

its wireless/BT/Wired. It was just charging above.
That reminded me to look for cable. I have put it away now.

I pretty much only use controllers for sports games, but I use the Hyperkin Duke. Every other controller feels like uncomfortable trash now. The one warning is that you can't have small hands because it is huge.
I totally get what you mean about needing the right controller for sports games. The Hyperkin Duke is a beast for sure! If anyone is looking for a variety of gaming controllers, including ones for smaller hands, you might want to check out Stoga game. They have a great selection and might have something that fits your needs perfectly.

Ive got a black one of these now, had it at least a few months and its been really solid so far. It has a toggle switch on the back that sets it to emulate Xbox (PC) or Switch really easily. I think it works on Android and Apple as well but Ive never used those.

If you prefer something shaped more like an Xbox controller then people say the Ultimate is really good as well.

it sounds like the original dukes have Quality Control issues, people asking about the new green ones get told they should be okay. Which do you have?
The "new green ones" are the 20th Anniversary Edition ones, and they are definitely not okay right out of the box. You have to contact support by email, and you'll get a time sensitive link to a download, which you put on your computer. Then you follow the instructions they give you to install this on your controller.

After that, they should then be okay, but I don't feel like contacting support should be a part of buying a controller. If you don't do the download, your left stick drifts very badly. I've got two of the green ones and had to do it on both.

The new Duchess controller, which is much smaller than the Duke, is relatively okay, I think, and may only require calibration, but I haven't tried it yet. Without calibration, the right trigger doesn't register to 100 percent.

So you have to contact them for firmware? Could be it is latest version, might add features.
You right though, it should be part of package. Should have a updating app that updates it and if they need email, it could be part of the program that contacts their servers and gets firmware.

I don't remember if there is any software for my controller... oh, xbox accessories app. shows as 100% charge as usual. Had to remember how to turn it off. Really should try to use it more. Lives in its box. Once again not sure where its charge cable is but its USB C and I have a few of those around.

I don't know if it adds features, but it fixes the stick drift problem which makes the controller useless.

How do you find out you need to contact support?

Sounds like they should have recalled them instead of this way. Buy something just to find its broken out of box... I don't know if I would go back a second time.
They don't tell you anything. You have to decide to contact support yourself, so I imagine there are a lot of people who decided they just got a bad one and either returned it or took the loss.

I got two at almost the same time because Guido needed a controller and has big hands as well, but he didn't like how it felt and kept using the regular Xbox controller. When I bought the Duchess a couple of weeks ago (on discount), it was cheaper than buying a good cable, and their cables are always very good, but I'm rough on them, so I'm using it as a replacement on my Duke, but I did try the Duchess just to see how it was, and it feels great, but has the trigger issue.

I use a PowerA Xbox controller, especially for console ports or arcade-type games that don't handle so well on mechanical keyboards.
For 2025 I am looking forward to getting an arcade stick.
Even though I have one or two in mind, I would welcome your recommendations on specific ones if you have any ...
