I keep getting to the good part in Satisfactory and stopping. I do aluminum in tier 7, which is really fun, and then stop before the particle physics and nuclear stuff. I don't know what all they are going to potentially add to the game, but I just feel like I want to save this for when the game is done instead of having that be anti-climactic. Of course, their little EA statement at the beginning says they are going to add more tech tiers, so maybe I'm saving this for nothing.

I played some Dyson Sphere Program this morning. The tutorial is a mess, so I skipped that and then struggled my way through the first hour. It really wasn't that bad. My heart is still with Satisfactory, as far as factory games go, so I kept comparing its wonkiness to Satisfactory's polish. I probably need to put some time between the two games. Yes, it does sound like I have had a romantic relationship with Satisfactory.

Played some SimCasino, but it drives me crazy that it doesn't have an "undo" button. Played a little Medieval Dynasty, but wasn't in the mood for its fetch quests and clunky romance. I'll come back to it when I'm in the mood to look for Igor's lost bucket. Maybe Igor should stop standing in front of his house all day and look for the damn thing himself. Also, it has been suggested that I romance a woman who sits by a campfire all day. This is unappealing. I picked the option "Offer her a gift" thinking that all I had were sticks and mushrooms, but somewhere I had picked up a coverlet. I don't know what her response was because an NPC tried to walk in between us and got stuck. He was staring at me, bobbing up and down while footstep sounds played. I declined the opportunity to make small talk and left. I'm going to mark that down as some successful romancing.

No time for playing anything at the moment, so I'm living vicariously through these threads.

I keep getting to the good part in Satisfactory and stopping.

That was my experience with the game, once I started getting in the weeds with oil processing my eyes crossed and I told myself to save it all for full release.

I'm going to mark that down as some successful romancing.

That was probably her husband trying to get in between you, trying to stop you taking your lordly rights from his good wife. Lucky lady.

Mechwarrior 5 all the way. My experience playing it before is making it MUCH easier now. Seems like the key is to mostly take money as a reward. Once you build up around 10 million,

@Withywarlock from last week's thread...
... I'm just curious when people say it's objectively better and somesuch without further elaboration that it is.
BG2 seems more memorable to me. The higher levels helped a lot, too.

On an unrelated note, love the signature. That's one of my favourite Fourth Doctor quotes, but it's hard to choose one from my all time fave episode, Genesis of the Daleks. Even then, "do I have the right?"
Possibly the beginning of the TIme War with the Daleks! Well, that's not quite right, there are neither beginnings nor endings in the War of Time... but it was a beginning. ;)

my flat is an absolute tip,i have most of my steam games plus my (legit) photoshop on a specialist high speed gaming hard drive and i cant find that hard drive, itll be somewhere but ive had qute a few things go missing in this room.
so not quite PC (personal computer that is) but please forgive me-i bought a nintendo switch recently thanks to my sister working in a certain store and getting me ninety quid off the thing, and have been playing burnout remastered, pokemon sword and doom 2016 (which i already have on my laptop via steam).

i also went to a pete tong/heritage orchestra concert last night, got a signed copy of a vinyl album of petes and a hoodie and poster, had three double whiskeys and cokes, was very happy-second ever concert due to my disabilities but for weeks id been preparing for it, if any of you are familiar with rick astley, he came on stage and was vocalist for a few songs,he coudnt hit any higher notes without his voice breaking though and no he didnt rickroll us and play never gonna give you up,i had joked and typed that he may rickroll us to my sister but the term was lost on her lol.
got home at 11:30pm and played pokemon sword and looked at my flat thinking god what a tip, fell asleep and woke up with a spilled can of pepsi all over my self lol.

theHunter: Call of the Wild

Took first steps in theHunter: Call of the Wild—found my doggie, the only DLC I bought on @ZedClampet's advice, good boy! And the doggie's a good boy too…
I think I'll just scoot around the various lookouts and camps first, to get the lay of the land, enjoy the world, and have Fast Travel points available for when I want to really start.

Is there a DLC for a Shoe Scraper? Sure are a lot of droppings around—makes me yearn for olfactory hardware to become a thing. Special offer on aroma card refills!

A lovely big open world tho, so even if I don't eventually enjoy the hardcore hunting, I'll definitely get more than my money's worth… since it was free :)

Far Cry 5

More short dips into Far Cry 5. I discovered that I prefer one of the non-specialists as an almost constant GFH companion. I don't know if the names/traits are constant across all games, but mine is Sally Nichols. I met her early and she has the traits of Spotter—tag nearby enemies at start of combat—and Back Up, which is she can revive herself when killed… which means she should be almost always available to revive me or the other GFH if we get killed.

My main other GFH is Grace the sniper—I like that she tells me when I make a headshot. That would be a nice extra in the game, a little ding to signify a headshot. I took Hurk along for a while for his inane chatter, but he makes it all too easy—his rockets auto-lock onto aircraft and boats, and he mostly one-shots roadblocks.

Annoying little bug is the 'X' which marks downed enemies & prey, so I can find them to feed my looting addiction. After looting animals, the X stays in the mini-map replacement. Growl. Btw I really dislike that whateveritscalled thin horizontal bar across the top, much prefer the trad circular mini.

A frequent random crossroads encounter can leave 10-20 bodies by the time the dust settles, and it's annoying to keep revisiting already skinned animals while looting.

Not sure you're going to like 6 as much without the companions. I've been playing 5 (rarely) on a solo campaign, and I keep forgetting to bring anyone along with me. We didn't use it much during co-op, but brought Hurk along when we remembered. He's completely useless on any mission you do stealthy, which is most of them.

Thinking? Its summer starting Wednesday and it still feels like winter. Raining rest of the week too.
Soon won't have as much free time to play games but then I can't think of anything I want to play so it doesn't really matter.
Funny I get busy just as the holiday season approaches.
My bday this week but I won't say when, days go too fast and was going to celebrate a birth week just to make it last longer. Day used to mean more when I was young.

Right now I'm playing Forza Horizon 5 primarily and Halo Infinite to a lesser extent as of late. On the side I'm chipping away at Resident Evil 1 (playing the whole series through for the first time, although I suspect that it will take a long time to do so) and Trails in the Sky, both of which have been enjoyable so far.

I've decided to settle back into Baldur's Gate 2: Enhanced Edition, on the fifth level of the Watcher's Keep. Many a reloaded save after being wiped out by some of the most hit-and-miss encounters on this floor. Either you succeed or you don't. I'm doing this as I wait for my D&D tabletop games to resume and Call of Duty: Vanguard to install.

That's a bad thing, as in 'rubbish tip'. I'm almost certain 'pants' is also a bad thing—if for no other reason than life is usually better when they're off, right? :D

Let's have a Guess @Colif's Day pool—I pick Wednesday, I think he's a 12/1 or 1/12 guy!

I can't imagine saying something was 'pants' and meaning that it was good. Now if you said, "That book was gym shorts," then that would mean the book was awesome. Or I could say Brian's game playing is like a button down shirt, heavily starched, with a tie in a tight Windsor knot...but that's not as easy to say as 'pants'.

Holy.... Mechwarrior 5's campaign just hit a difficulty spike. The campaign missions have been pretty easy but now I'm supposed to defend a city from waves of attackers. Thirty of them! Some are easy-kill vehicles and choppers but most are mechs and there's four (?) that are assault class! There's only four of us, and nobody can bring a huge mech.

I've played a bit more of Guild of Dungeoneering. Found out that unlocking the next tier of classes is far more useful than unlocking possible loot items. Oh well, the graveyard has an infinite amount of graves available.

I did discover that the game is available for Android as well, but for some reason I think if I played it on a phone I wouldn't have liked it as much as I do now and I'm not sure why.

I'm still playing Solasta Crown of the Magister. The combat in this game is so much fun, and extremely strategic, similar to the Divinity OS games. As much as I love Real Time w/ Pause type CRPGs, that method wouldn't have worked with Solasta, this is definitely Turn Based only.

Sneaking is an important part of the game, even for non-rogue types, as well as splitting your party of characters to get the advantage before combat starts. Jumping gaps in terrain, climbing walls, pushing enemies of ledges is huge, not only in combat, but in exploration. And light sources, or the lack thereof, can mean the difference between hitting of missing an attack.

One of the things that has pleasantly surprised me is the story and the characters you create. While the story is not on par with something like BG2, it certainly isn't bad at all, and drives the game forward. It's D&D fantasy, and fairly linear, but still interesting. And maybe the biggest surprise was the amount of character interaction from a party of four that you create. They actually have some personality and interactions not only with others, but among themselves. So much of that depends upon what choices you make in character creation, and on the dice rolls you get from attributes and skills.

For such a small game developer, Tactical Adventures has done an amazing job.

omg, you right for once :)
Happy Birthday!

Hmm, no comment from @Brian Boru on that NFT boat I gave him. Probably busy counting his money.

So I don't normally play with an FPS counter going, but the last couple of days I've been noticing my solo Satisfactory game wasn't running very well. It got so bad this morning that I turned on the FPS counter and I was getting 8 to 10 FPS. I went to one of my old games, and was getting 140, so I think it's a mod I added recently that lets you distribute items without using conveyor belts. I actually thought not having so many conveyor belts all over the place would speed the game up. Oh well. It's going to be a massive pain in the but to replace all this mod stuff and run belts. I would just start over, but this is my favorite build yet.
