What’s the one game you never get tired of playing, and why does it keep pulling you back in?

I’m curious to know which games other players consider timeless. Some games stay fun no matter how many times we play them whether it’s because of the story, gameplay, community, or just the nostalgia. For me, that game is Shadow Fight 2, but I’d love to hear what games keep you hooked and why.

We need stickies that list the games as its a bit much to expect new people to read that thread and find what every one said.
For instance, my answer to this in that thread linked to a previous thread.

Answer is probably the same. Journey doesn't make as much sense as time goes on as less people playing it. Eventually its backdrop will be the only life in the game... blowing sand.
Probably need more time before i play Torchlight again, even though I haven't played it on this PC... its performance won't really benefit from it. Used to play old games on new PC to see difference but there comes a point there isn't a major change.

I have been a gamer since 1982 and a pc geek since 2002 so i dont need to tell you how much progress and changes i have seen over the years.

I have played 1,000's of games over the years in probably every genre that is out their.
My go to game of all time is Satisfactory . I lol when players say they are bored and yes we do need new content but i always find something to do and my current playthrough has over 5,000 hours on it. I dont use trucks and tractors as they are unreliable. I have 12 end to end railway tracks , for some reason i could not get my head round signals etc. What i do have though is a network of over 500 drone ports that collect and deliver goods to all areas of the world map.

One guy said .... you cant do that without a mod ..... i dont use mods.
I put drones ports at the end of my battery factories and they in turn deliver batteries to other rows of drones ports so they dont run out of power.

I have tried other games similar to satisfactory but for some reason they dont appeal to me. Some have small blocks that look like leggo bricks and its hard to tell what the machines are supposed to be. A lot of players seem to go for factorio and i am sorry guys but the top down view makes it look like it was made on a spectrum in 1982..... i did try the demo though ...

The one thing i hate about gaming is the word PLAY .... yes i know thats what we do but many years ago before gaming became more expectable as a hobby my workmates would jump around in front of me shouting bang pop your dead i'm not....... ha ha sad person you PLAY games

Lots of games could fit here, but I don't replay games all that much. There are always new games showing up that will be fun PLUS they are a new experience. Yeah, I would really enjoy playing through at least half of the games in my library all over again. Witcher 3 was my favorite RPG of all time. But playing that means not playing Elden Ring. I'm pretty sure I would enjoy another round of Elden Ring in a few years - but playing that means not having time to play Witcher 4.

For me, that game is Shadow Fight 2, but I’d love to hear what games keep you hooked and why.
Why?

Yea, i was gonna say i thought there was a thread about this too but i never answered apparently lol

So, to the question at hand. It usually changes, right now its Diablo 4, since its release, no matter how bad a season is or how many other more fun and enjoyable games have come out, i still always go back to that game and before Diablo 4 itd be Diablo 3 or 2 or Diablo 2 Resurrected. Ive always liked that series.

I keep getting pulled back because A. it was a childhood game i played, B. i like the grind and its set up (for the most) and its a casual game which i fall back on with a busy schedule of work, family and playing other games lol.

Im pretty sure my old answer would have been Destiny 2 because, up until roughly this time last year, i would keep going back to that game since its release in 2017 but i havent touched it since. Its a terrible terrible game now.

I'm not one to generally go back and do anything. I won't rewatch a film or tv series or re-read a book. I think it's just how my brain is wired and my memory works. Even with music I might find a new band and listen to their disocraphy for a while and then find another one.

However there are certain games that change with new seasons or have DLC that I will carry on playing.

My most played games are easily Euro Truck Simulator 2, American Truck Simulator and Path of Exile (1).
  1. ETS2 - 760 hours played on steam
  2. ATS - 498 hours played on steam
  3. PoE, way more but I've the GGG installer not the steam version.

Dungeons of naheulbeuk keepspulling me back. I keep think ill play something new and then ill just start that up and play another mission. Midnight suns is now doing the same thing.

I just keep playing the same thing till im done, tupically it takes me years to move on.. makes gaming way cheaper!

I have 3 that I always go back to.

1. Fall out Shelter

Do not even think it's possible to finish it but it's a brain sucking game. When I am bored or sitting waiting for someone or something. I pull out my phone or start it up on PC and just waste an hour or so on it.

2. Dragon age Origins.

The storyline and way everything unfolds just does it for me. When I have nothing to play, I start up origins.

3. 7 Days to Die

Yes, you can only kill so many Zombies before getting bored. So, I started spending time on base building. Most of my time spent on 7D2D is spend building or improving a base somewhere. The Zombies and missions are just there by accident.

I have played Fallout Shelter 3 or 4 times now too. It's a nice distraction, but the last time I played I gave up when I got to the point where you can start increasing your people's SPECIAL stats. Especially the last levels take way too long and it just isn't fun to rotate everyone to max all their stats. It doesn't help that the raids keep getting stronger as well, until you have deathclaws just rampaging through your entire base until they finally die.
