Upgrading build to melt Solidworks and Rocket League

[Achievable]

Hello everyone, I built my first PC about 4-5 years ago and I'm ready for an upgrade. I'll mainly be working in Solidworks doing 3D CAD drawing / rendering as well as simulations in Solidworks. I'll also be playing Rocket League on a 144hz monitor.

This was put together with help from people in the r/buildapc Discord. I'm posting to various forums to build the confidence I need to pull the trigger on ordering $1,800 worth of computer parts... Lol.

If you have any modifications you'd suggest, I'd greatly appreciate your input. If you'd like to simply help boost my confidence by supporting this list, then by all means, please do

I'd look for a board with a better power phase design in order to handle that i7 when it kicks into turbo boost such as this MSI board down below which has a 12 phase design vs the Asrock's 9 phase. Other than that your build looks solid

I'd look for a board with a better power phase design in order to handle that i7 when it kicks into turbo boost such as this MSI board down below which has a 12 phase design vs the Asrock's 9 phase. Other than that your build looks solid

I like the updated build because it bumps the CPU up a bit without losing too much performance with the GPU, and CAD modeling / rendering is more of a CPU intensive task than GPU intensive.

Personally I like your 12700F build in the OP minus that Asrock board.

That article is very convincing. Others seem to agree with you on the CPU and board choice. One gentlemen noted that having integrated graphics with the CPU as a backup is worth the slight difference in cost between the K and F version... Which I don't mind so I'm probably going with the K just to be safe.

Going with the Quadro RTX 4000 workstation card as I've learned that some features in Solidworks are disabled if running on a gaming card, and also support is not offered to users who aren't running on a certified workstation card. Also, benchmarks show that the Quadro RTX 4000 will improve my gaming experience over my current build, and I'm already happy with my gaming experience as it is... So I think I'm making the right choice here.
