-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Why Are You Upgrading: I've never owned a PC in my life, but am now realising that since I WFH, there's more reason to own a PC instead of using the same laptop for games or vice versa. I also wanna build something with my dad since we don't get to do things like this anymore. :)

Budget: Looking for anything below 2500 AUD before shipping without the monitor, as I already have one at home! I did some research and found that some options that are cheap in America are actually more expensive here in Australia. Also, I'm moreso concerned that I am buying things that are too powerful for my needs. Again, less is definitely better!

Approximate Purchase Date: anywhere within the month of February!

Use Case: Stream in 4K, run code simulations (novice AI such as CNN's and the like), and game (Atelier Series/Valorant). I don't plan on playing anything heavy like Tarkov or stuff like that. I'm just looking for the bare minimum of functioning on those games. Streaming in 4K is also not a top priority, but it'd be nice since I stream lots for work anyway and would like the option to stream games in my free time as well for no one in particular.

Your Monitor Resolution: 1920 x 1080, 360Hz Refresh Rate. My monitor is a Lenovo Legion Y25-30

Preferred Website(s) for Parts? Amazon AU, but any is fine!

Parts Preferences: The only part I truly want to keep and build on is the Case, which is a Fractal Design North white glass case. I've done my research to know that fitting a radiator in here with a 300mm+ GPU won't work because the fans need to be placed inside the case. That's why I chose a Noctua NH-D15S instead of an AIO. The Noctua website also says that this specific fan is compatible so long as I rotate it 90 degrees.

Overclocking: Maybe, but it's not necessary!

Additional Comments: Quiet's nicer, and RGB is fine/preferred! But I'll take all advice I can get and I'll settle for the cost-performance ratio over the other two above! :) Here are some questions I had so that if I can't get a recommended build, I can at least get a bit more knowledgeable!
  1. Since I'll be using this for general use such as streaming, playing video games, coding (AI simulations, etc) and watching/editing videos, would it suffice just to get 16GB of RAM total?
  2. I was told to get the latest gen of whatever CPU, but is it more cost-effective/worth it to go with the Intel i5 12th gen over the Intel 15 13th gen?
  3. If I do not have access to a physical internet connection, is it necessary to get a Motherboard with Wi-Fi included in it? Is it a better idea to get an external accessory for it?
  4. Is there a cheaper alternative to the Asus ROG STRIX Z690-A GAMING WIFI D4 ATX LGA1700 Motherboard that I may be missing out on?
  5. I'm honestly super clueless on the Video Card. I chose one that the internet recommends in general, but since I'm not playing really intense games, perhaps there is a better suggestion? Is my current choice of
XFX Speedster SWFT 309 Radeon RX 6700 10 GB Video Card unnecessary for the types of things I play? Would appreciate anything on this!
  6. My power supply is currently 850W, but pcpartpicker tells me that the estimate Watt use for my build is ~500. Should I choose to buy a lower W power supply or is there some benefit to buying the larger W for upgrading, etc?
Thank you so much for reading and any help I can get would be very appreciated! I apologise if this post isn't specific enough, but I'd be more than happy to give more info!

Thank you thank you! I decided to implement most of your changes after looking at more videos. I'm gonna have to keep the case unfortunately as it was offered to me by a family friend with some fans.

This is the new iteration of the build I'll be going for! Wasn't too sure about the graphics card but was told 3060Ti is probably worth it. Thanks again for all the suggestions!

Keep your eyes peeled for this card (RTX 4060 Ti). If it's anything like the other 40XX cards that have been released it's going to be a winner.

Just out of curiousity, what's the difference between buying the Gigabyte B760 GAMING X AX DDR4 ATX LGA1700 Motherboard and the Gigabyte B660 GAMING X AX DDR4 ATX LGA1700 Motherboard? Seems like the specs are the exact same, with the B660 being cheaper.

@SBCarod

I see you're a person of taste, I have the Fractal North black version and its really nice. Excellent cooling too.

One suggestion from your latest build, that Kingston NV2 drive has some issues. Get something a bit more reliable. This is a better one.

Offg the top of my head I dont know the differences between B660 and B760 chipsets, probably minimal and depends more on the specific boards. Whyme would probably know better :)

I absolutely love the aesthetic, but also it was a good deal when I got it, so I'm quite happy with it!

Why_Me also suggested the Crcuail. I decided to get it instead as the stuff I've read about Kingston including what you sent say the same thing. Thank you for that!

With regards to the CPU Cooler, I'm considering the Cooler Master MasterLiquid ML240L ARGB V2 62 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler AIO. As the cooler fans have really expensive shipping from the available places to my area. It says that I might need a mount to put it on the motherboard. Would this be a decent AIO and should I be worried about that mounting issue?

Last thing is what's a good 3060Ti video card? I just picked the Zotoc one, but I'm sure there are better alternatives!

Thanks again. :)

The B760 comes with WiFi 6E and the B660 comes with WiFi 6. Other than that no difference other than you will most likely have to update the bios on the B660 board before you install your cpu, RAM and gpu which is easy enough to do using Gigabyte's Q-Flash Plus. All you need is a cheap USB flash drive.

The Zotac is one of the lower end 3060Ti's. Its not a perofrmance thing, because they all perform about the same these days. Its just it doesnt cool as well, and its loud while it does it. It also doesnt have fan stop at idle which should be standard these days. OTOH that's why its a bit cheaper.

I'd pay a little bit more for this one, but if you dont care about noise it wont make any obvious difference other than that,
