Hello

I have a Full size Cooler Master HAF X case with the following components
ASUS P9X79 Pro motherboard ( one USB and the Audio port does not work )
Intel i7 3820 3.6 GHz. CPU - Socket 2011 LGA
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 760 GPU - 2 GB
2 X 4 GB sticks of Kingston DDR3 RAM - 799 MHz
1 TB Western Digital Hard Drive - old and tired
NOCTUA NF P12 cooling fan for the CPU
FRACTAL design 750 Watt PS
Running Windows 10 64 bit OS

Boot up and Applications take too long to start and respond

I do NOT have any security software protection at all

I am NOT a gamer - do NOT play at all - I use my computer a lot for business and surfing

I need it to be very RELIABLE and FAST

I DO use graphics software like Corel Draw and sometime Adobe graphics products to fix graphics files

I use a lot of office productivity tools and Customer Relations Management software

I use Acrobat Pro to create and edit pdfs and a lot of graphics file edits

I surf a whole lot with literally 30 windows open all at once

I am very confused about whether I should change my entire system or just upgrade

I am on a BUDGET

Thank you

For your stated purposes, the overall system is fine. Adding a SSD for Windows and your apps, using your HDD for mass storage, would increase overall performance significantly.

More memory would also help quite a bit. What is your overall budget and where on the planet are you located?

I can spend around $400 to $500
I am based in Toronto, Canada
Was also wondering if switching to a DDR4 MB would be advisable ?

Your budget will be strained to replace the motherboard (include cost of memory and CPU as well).

For example, note your CPU would not be supported and then note the cost of the mobo itself:

With your budget, you might be able to get a motherboard, CPU, and memory combo that is much more modern and will perform well (that can be upgraded later, as desired).

For example:

PCPartPicker Part List

CPU: Intel Core i5-10400F 2.9 GHz 6-Core Processor ($194.98 @ Newegg Canada)
Motherboard: Asus PRIME B560-PLUS ATX LGA1200 Motherboard ($149.00 @ Amazon Canada)
Memory: G.Skill Ripjaws V Series 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR4-3200 CL16 Memory ($142.99 @ Newegg Canada)
Total: $486.97
Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available

Any suggestions on a MB and CPU combo for what I do , would be most appreciated ?

Note, even with the new components, your HDD will still be relatively slow. Adding or swapping to a SSD would provide a significant boost to overall performance.

Added SSD for consideration:
