Hi all.
I would like to upgrade the CPU of my RIG.

Currently, I have an Intel Core i9 10900k and a RTX 4090 GPU. I play games at 4K. Mostly I get 85-100 FPS in every AAA games everything is set at maximum settings. My goal is to reach 4K 120FPS.
My potentional candidate is an AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D.
My question is, is it worth upgrading my CPU to the above mentioned one. Will I get 4K 120 FPS by buying this CPU?
Thank you for your answers in advance.

Really need to know what games you are playing. Some are more CPU intensive than others. I assume you've tested in your games what is slowing you down? Or are you just assuming it's the CPU?

I have tested a lot of games. For example, Oblivion Remastered clearly shows CPU bottleneck.

Save some money by going with the 7800x3D.

There’s not much difference on cost between 7800x 3d and 9800x3d and so does the performance. If the build is capable to handle power and you got money get 9800x3d otherwise 7800x 3d. You will have 100 FPS in most games at 4K with your 4090.
