Question Thoughts on this monitor for gaming

curved on a 27 inch might be a bit much. i don't think its necessary

there isn't a great deal of info on that monitor, I don't like products where the only reviews you can find are on Amazon

Their own website leaves a lot to be desired - https://zeroedgetechnology.com/gaming-monitors/ - no details on the actual monitors
compare that to say mine - https://www.lg.com/au/it-monitors/lg-32GK650F-B and tell me which tells you more about the monitor

I would go for a better brand like LG or Samsung or a known brand, it might be more expensive but easier to get support. More likely to be a good screen too.

What about this one?

Doesn't anyone ever buy a monitor that is better than what they can do now thinking next GPU can do it instead?

I can't run 1440p at 144hz on a 2070 Super but maybe my next GPU can. I have never had a PC where the 1st GPU in it is also the last.

So whats wrong with aiming higher than you can do now? Beats buying a new monitor every time you upgrade PC.
Frames Per Second with First Person Shooter games such as CoD Warzone, BF5 and soon to be released BF6 for example is important. It's all about smoothness. Nothing sucks more than having to turn down your settings in order to play a game smoothly. Newer games such as Cyber Punk really put systems to the test.

Can I not simply set it to 1080p until I upgrade GPU when 3090s stop being 3k?

I'll throw in another take here. A 3060 wouldn't be too bad at 2560x1440. You don't need higher levels of AA and turning down a couple of settings like shadows a little can get you a long way without losing much noticeable fidelity. IMO Cyberpunk is an outlier, you can't play that game over 100 FPS at medium with an RTX 3090.

Of course as time goes on there will be even more demanding games, but at that point you can upgrade GPU and keep the still good monitor, rather than having to buy both if you want an improvement-

I'm using an AMD 5700XT which is comparable to a 3060 with a 2560x1440 144hz monitor and its great as long as you keep frame rates over the Freesync minimum of your monitor. If I was an elite level competitive player I'd just reduce all the settings as low as possible to keep the frame rate up, I don't think people like that care anything much for fidelity beyond maybe draw distance.

Like @Why_Me I don't recommend dropping the resolution either though, it looks bad. Some people don't seem to mind but I can tell immediately if a game starts up in 1080p. Maybe you get used to it.

Won't be doing much COD or competitive games like that, more into survival/open world games like Rust, DayZ, Ark, Conan, Valheim, etc. I will play Battlefield once in a while and want to try Cyberpunk but I know what to expect from it. More into the content of the games than graphics, but also don't want it to look like crap, lol.
