I don't think there's been any news for nearly a year now.
Try tagging the twitter account? They seem to post a lot about the old game still.

It was supposed / hoped to be next after Serious Sam 4, which released a year ago. But then they released The Hand of Merlin 4 months ago, so who knows?

I don't buy games new, but this would surely tempt me at release—the original is excellent.
