My Diablo 2 Resurrected Mod : Tal Rasha Prime Mod Pack.

I was just thinking about the current state of D2R and how a lot of us who have played it for years are looking for more depth beyond the base game. It feels like there's so much potential for new gameplay loops and ways to keep players invested. I wanted to throw out some ideas for how a theoretical expansion or update could really shake things up.

What if the level cap was raised to 100, opening up a whole new progression path? And what if loot was completely rebalanced, with hundreds of unique items and a customizable filter to cut down on junk drops? I think a lot of players would love that.

Then you could introduce new systems that change the way you play. Imagine being able to forge your own custom items using a modular approach, or having a single-player trading simulator that used Horadric Cube recipes to mimic online trading rates. It would totally change the single-player experience.

And what about just fixing some of the old annoyances? It would be great to have unlimited respecs, or to finally get teleport and other movement skills to work in town. Quality of life updates like expanded stash and inventory space are almost a requirement at this point.

Some of the smaller, but impactful, changes could include things like:
  • Throwing weapons and even boots being able to get runewords.
  • A way to disenchant magic and rare items back into bases for runewords.
  • Mercenaries that are actually resilient and feel like a true companion.
  • The ability to quick access the Cow Level.
  • Getting rid of stamina drain.
I think these kinds of changes would add a whole new layer of gameplay and make the game feel fresh again for veterans. It's cool to see what's possible when you think outside the box.
