Help With Stuttering

Hey guys. I’ve been having an issue with my PC lately where when I am playing games, the screen will freeze for about 3 second and whatever input I’m using at the time also sticks before it unfreezes.

So for example, I’ll be playing War Thunder and I’ll be holding down “W” to move forward, then suddenly the screen freezes for about 3 seconds. I’ll instantly let go of “W”. After a short time the game will continue. The screen will basically fast forward to my avatar in game having moved forward for those three seconds my screen was frozen.

This happens in every game I play and even sometimes, rarely, does this in normal desktop mode.

I’ve ran FurMark stress tests and the system runs just fine. I’m not a tech wizard and I’ve looked online for months and can’t find any guidance.

Any ideas? I’ll include my rig setup below.

CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 3800X
Motherboard: TUF Gaming X570-PLUS
RAM: Corsair Vengeance 32gb
GPU: GeForce GTX 1660Ti
Monitor: Asus VG245 (1920x1080p)

Also all my games are on an SSD.

Hi, the first thing to check would be to make sure that your systems drivers are up to date, that would be GPU, motherboard Chipset and LAN. Also make sure youre running the latest system BIOS from here:

Youll find instructions on how to flash from your motherboard manual. Do it from BIOS not in Windows.

Could also be a USB related issue, try removing any external hard drives, sound cards etc you have plugged in that arent necessary and see if it helps. Let us know if any of that helps
