steam wont download my game

I am trying to download a plague's tale requium , it reserved space and i have 1.20 tb free.
The download got to 20% then just froze , i tried again and it stuck at 2% ????
I cleared cache , changed region , restarted hub , i then restarted pc and steam but it still wont download
In all the years i have used steam i have never had this happen before.

Is it possible an internet issue on your end? Is everything working correctly? Is Steam maybe experiencing issues right now?

Try downloading another game, and see if it also gets hung up.

I can’t recall this ever happening to me unless I’ve had internet issues, or it’s been Steam acting up, such as a Tuesday when Valve is doing maintenance, but even that’s rare.

i just got back from holiday so i dont know if steam are having a problem , everything else sees ok.
I just pressed the reset button on the hub instead of just turning off the power and it seems ok now , i wanted to get the game before it goes off sale , its £15 on steam and still £40+ on epic

Do other games download? Maybe somehow your firewall is flagging steam?

UPDATE ...... I phoned my internet provider B.T. and asked them to carry out a line check.
He said the quickest way to sort a problem was to press the small button that is under the bottom of the ONT box , wait a while then press it again to reboot everything. . The engineer who fitted the box never showed me the button and the box is so low down on the wall i could not see it.
