Sometimes a game tells you: "sry, you are not that guy!"

It happened to me in Kingdom Come: Deliverance and here's how it went down:

I received a quest to gather information about an encampment. I needed to find out how many enemies were there, what kind of weaponry they had, the best way to enter, and all that good stuff. So, I did my scouting and reported back. Then, we launched an attack, and I was even given the task of taking out the enemy archers. It felt like a small siege and it was pretty fun watching dozens of soldiers clash with swords and other weapons.

As the battle progressed, we reached the final door, which we rammed in. Suddenly, I was face to face with a villain on my own.

I had practiced a bit and kind of knew how to defend myself, but this guy was almost fully plated and charged at me like a train! I tried my best, but he repeatedly slapped me in the face with his sword. At that point, I realized I had no business being in that siege or fighting this absolute menace.

I just wasn't good enough, and I think Warhorse Studios did an excellent job of letting me know. There's little to no handholding, and nobody says, "Maybe you shouldn't do this." So now, I'm back to the drawing board—improving my sword attack and defense, getting better equipment, and honing my skills before facing the boss again.

Between training your combat more, I also recommend using a blunt implement, it's much more successful versus armor.

@BeardyHat It's weird that his head is not protected when the rest of his outfit looks well-armored. Maybe he likes to show off his face, I dunno. If I can use a flail, I am going to be super happy

I had practiced a lot - with the bow! It was a long afternoon, full of ducking and running, but I did win eventually. I don't remember if I relented and started using another weapon or if I managed to finish him with the bow shots, but I do remember trying to do it with just bow for quite a while.
