Question [SOLVED} How to remove "All Bookmarks" folder from Chrome Bookmarks Bar?

I just got this All Bookmarks folder showing up on my Chrome Bookmarks Bar after trying to create a Bookmarks Bar bookmark. I cannot find a way to delete it and I've found a few others with this problem. In fact when you look at the Chrome Report an Issue instances on this, one person said the exact same thing, and another replied saying they're having the same problem, but it was locked for further replies.

I have tied deleting the URL created in that folder, but I can only delete the URL, not the folder itself. None of my searches have lead to a viable solution.

I realize this technically isn't directly related to PC Gaming, but the bookmark I was creating at least is for the store I was buying a new gaming mouse at. :confused_old:

If anyone has this happen btw, I found out you need to open a new tab in Chrome, type chrome://flags/, and after opening that page, search for "Power bookmarks side panel", then in that option choose Disabled.

I was going to say the mods can delete this thread if they like, but if not I will post a brief review on the Razer Basilisk V3 gaming mouse I just ordered when I get it tomorrow. If that's OK, I will also change the thread title and remove the above or squash it to a spoiler in case anyone else has the same problem. Another member on the forum I first posted it on had the same problem, so the solution that was posted by the staff there helped him too.

Sorry for this old codger's lethargy!

Post if your edit ability has timed out and one of us can do it—like tennis pros, we exist only to serve :)

Line 1, and add "If a bookmark could mark books"!

Line 2, you sir go above and beyond, kudos. (y)

I should also add that I just found several free mouse support software options in case Razer's Synapse 3 software is problematic for me like Synapse 2 was.

You're welcome, glad it helped.

Now I think I'm ready to give a small review on the Razer Basilisk V3. After removing the THX Spatial Audio addon I installed from the Razer software suite (since I couldn't use it anyway), which required manually deleting all the leftover bits via my Revo Uninstaller tool, I have had zero issues with the Synapse 3 software itself. I can only assume you need THX certified headphones/headset for the THX Spatial Audio to work, but the Razer software makes NO mention of this before installing it.

I was also pleased to find that the DPI adjust has a pretty good way of indicating what DPI you're on by showing a small popup window in the lower right of the screen every time you adjust it. This btw does NOT show up in captures. The text is plenty large and easily readable on the fly while gaming, but I see no option to adjust the window size, position, or duration it stays onscreen. It does NOT however show up in the very bottom right corner of the screen where many games have HUD elements pertaining to your ammo or such, so it's not bad as is. The person I spoke to at Razer claimed you could get the mouse scroll wheel to light another color for each DPI, but if that's possible it's probably via one of the custom lighting addons in the app, which I didn't install. I kind of prefer keeping my eyes onscreen while playing though.

Functionally the mouse performs well. I always need to take a bit of time to adjust to a different mouse, as just griping it while holding down RMB to aim and left clicking to shoot can feel awkward at first, at times accidentally hitting a thumb button, but I'm getting more used to it now. There's absolutely NO accidental tapping of DPI adjust buttons like I had with my Logi G402 though, as they're placed behind the scroll wheel. They are also very easy to tell which one is DPI up, and which is DPI down, due to the front one (which I rebound to DPI up) being taller.

Lighting wise, to match my Bloody B840 keyboard, it took a while. I thought the backlight color of my KB was just Orange, which is the only color it will do. So at first I tried matching it via one of the many squares on Razer's color grid, but none of the ones that looked orange were anywhere near the look of my KB. Fortunately there's also a custom option, but picking a spot on the rainbow-like color panel did not yield good results either. There IS however a 3rd option, whereby you search color charts online and type in a 6 character code in a text box. After a few tries I found the code FF4500, which is orange red, and it matched my KB very well.

The scroll wheel on this mouse can be set to ratchet, freewheel, or ratchet that auto freewheels when you flick it fast. I leave it set on ratchet. The clicks of ratchet mode aren't as pronounced as the mice I'm used to, in fact I can't even hear it click. However despite the ratcheting being subtle, it is adequate for weapon selecting, as long as you don't apply a lot of pressure scrolling the wheel.

I like the shape of the mouse, and it has a pretty good grip surface on both sides, in fact the grip, which feels better than Logi's silicone coating, is MUCH less likely to slip, and I trust it will not rub off easily like Logi's. This is one of the main reasons I bought it, when the silicone coating wears off on the Logi where the grip points are, it will most assuredly feel even more like it's slipping as you move it. I had a lot of accidental thumb button clicks with my Logi because of this, but once I got used to griping the Razer properly, it rarely happens.

So it looks like this was a good choice. It surely costs more than the G402, which Best Buy had for $20, but BB matched Amazon's price for me, so I paid $50. Honestly, I'd rather pay $50 vs $20, get a 2 yr vs 1 yr warranty, and have a mouse that has a better feeling grip that probably will last much longer than a cheap coating, and MUCH less slippage using it. It also looks like the software problems of Synapse 2 are not present in Synapse 3, but as I said, DO NOT install THX Spatial Audio, unless you have THX certified headphones or headset. Even then there's no telling whether you'll have problems with it, for me it was my right front speaker not playing, which is why I had to remove all the leftover bits.

I always set aim to toggle rather than hold down—hold down is way too uncomfy for me.

Great review!

Well, yes and no for me. Yeah it's slightly less comfortable, but I really only notice it if I'm waiting way too long for enemies to pop up. Having to toggle aim on and off and the slower speed that it does so, is actually a bit more aggravating for me.

Glad you liked the review. (y)
