Sharing a save game file

How do i post a save game file for somebody else to look at and if they mess about with the file will it alter progress i have on my own pc when i load up the game ..... i save to cloud.

Does your cloud provider not provide such a sharing option, typically a link for others to download from?

If not, then stick it in a place like Box or DropBox or any of the other large file swap places, and post the link.

I don't know, but assume it would. Is there any DRM in the game?—that could be a problem.

But you'll always have the original file to fall back on, so you shouldn't end up worse off.

You can find your Steam cloud saves here:

Sign In

store.steampowered.com

You can download them and then send them to someone via your preferred method. Most save files are probably small enough to be emailed, but otherwise there are a bunch of free file sharing websites you could use.

Downloading your save makes a separate copy and any changes made to that copy won't affect the save on your cloud. Without access to your Steam account, no one will be able to overwrite your saves.

You wont be surprised when i tell you i am talking about the game satisfactory , in the games save folder each save is 27.8mb so i would probably have to send it somewhere as a compressed folder......

yeah, I would love to see it. Nothing I do in there would mess up your save file. I guess the best place to put it might be on Google Drive.

i have never used google drive so i will look into it.

A bit more information for you ...... If you want to carry on using my playthrough i dont mind , i have some empty buildings ready for when more new stuff is added to the game.

If you need more power shards go to where the majority of my train stations are, look for 2 big buildings that are connected with a glass walkway , in one of the buildings i made a set up to produce power shards , go take a look inside the big cyan storage container lol.

If you want to expand the build for yourself and cant find something let me know.

not a problem Zed i just wanted you to see what is possible with a lot of hard work and planning...
i sometimes look around my layout and pinch myself and think .... how the hell did i manage to do all that and i play solo

I'm not even close to exploring it all yet. Thanks so much for getting me that file. It will serve as inspiration as I continue my build. I'm going slow and planning it to take years.

And, yeah, solo can be a little tough, but at least we don't have to deal with someone else building their ideal factory which doesn't mesh with our own ideal factory.
