In hindsight, I don't think I will bother updating my BIOS on this PC, since in about 3 months I will have a new PC anyway. It doesn't really make a lot of difference to me. Maybe in the future when Win 12 is released.
This PC is going to my mother as I am going to refuse starting hers soon. It takes 10 minutes before she can use the thing now. What with it being on a hdd, and only having a quad core CPU (with no hyperthreading), it seems every startup something wants to update or Eset wants to scan drive.
That and no way her PC can install windows 11 and time is ticking on windows 10. Good chance probably be able to update this to win 12 as well, whenever they release the UI update (to me, that is mostly what changes between windows releases, the desktop). I hope they don't put the stupid AI on the desktop.
So giving her a PC with a CPU with 4x more threads and with an nvme in it, and with windows 11 installed on it, will make my life easier. She mainly uses it for checking emails anyway these days, and the occasional print job, it will have any easy life from now on.
This thing starts so fast if I don't logon right away the display turns off.
just have to make a user for her to use.
If someone made a case with this combo:
- Antec Flux Pro case
- Deepcool Assassin 4 VC Vision
- Lian LI TL LCD fans
they might run into a problem as most motherboards only have two USB 2 headers on them, and all 3 of those use USB 2 to talk to the motherboard.
I am sure there is someone out there who tried.
Hardware makers need to rethink what USB connection to use for monitoring. Corsair AIO at least use USB 3.
