Someone here asked about Trackballs at some stage and I keep thinking its you but it must have been someone else

trackballs were created decades before the first mouse.
first trackball in 1946
First mouse in 1964

"Upside Down" Misconception: While it is often said that a trackball is simply an "upside-down mouse," it is more historically accurate to say a mouse is an "upside-down trackball

I used trackballs back in the day. It feels completely foreign to me now. Also, it's the first thing I've connected to this PC with bluetooth. It connected immediately, but it keeps hesitating. I'm not sure if that is bluetooth related, but I'm going to try it with the dongle.

Even though the possibilities were tantalizing, I avoided trying an MMO mouse for years, but you wouldn't believe how much I love them now. I will never use anything else for gaming. I'm just going to copy/paste an example that I mentioned in the general thread:

I bought Tennis Elbow 4. It has overwhelmingly positive review scores. When I launched the game, though, and looked at the keyboard controls, my immediate thought was that I should refund it. There are something like 8 different types of shots in the game, and they all have bizarre keypresses. For instance, one shot, maybe the high lob, requires you to press cntrl+alt+up. Every shot was like that. There's no chance I could play that way.

But what I ended up doing was making macros for all the shots and assign them to buttons on my MMO mouse. Much, much better.

My assumption had always been that I'd never get used to all the buttons, but it actually didn't take me that long. My biggest problem is that on one mouse, made by UTech, the buttons are so close together that I can't use the middle buttons because I can't press them without also pressing one of the buttons next to them. This isn't a problem with the SteelSeries.

I only use the two main buttons on my mouse and scroll wheel. I mostly ignore the side buttons and had to look in Steelseries software to see what they meant to... seems two of them move forum page back, and only one forward... and that is totally ignoring the trigger at front left that I also ignore.

On the logitech mouse I had before you could remove the trigger... so i did. but it was too heavy.
I like my aerox as to get dust out I just turn mouse up side down and bash it on the mouse pad a few times... shame keyboard not so easy

To be honest, the Corsair Scimitar RGB Elite MMO mouse is much better, but the key mapping is painful. The Logitech is likely better, but at $240, I can think of more interesting things to buy. I may one day try the Redragon version, but my experiences with them are extremely poor.
