The only 2022 release I played is Total War: Warhammer 3, which is at least as good as Warhammer 2, which I played for 1.5 years or so.

(Oh, also Marvel Snap, but that didn't interest me much).

Looking through other games released in 2022, there's a couple of sequels I expect I would like as well:

- The Stanley Parable: Ultra Deluxe
- Return to Monkey Island
- The Witcher 3
- Warhammer 40,000: Darktide
- Tactics Ogre: Reborn

Oops. I forgot TWW3. That would definitely be one of my picks.

Christ i barely remember what i played or even enjoyed last year. The only thing i played that was released in 2022 was chivarly 2 but that was on epic a year before so doesn't account.

But regardless, what games stood out that i enjoyed last year? in no particular order:

return of the obra dinn
legend of zelda a link to 2 worlds.
Huntdown
dishonored 2
Pillars of eternity
Deathwar 3030
Glass masquerade (surprisingly).
Yakuza kiwami 2 - technically still playing but started in december.

So yeah, out of the games i played, those were the only games that i would consider my top games of 2022 that i played.

There were a few doom wads that deserve an honourable mention but more mods then games.

Will i get to play more good games in 2023? we'll see. Part of the problem even good games these days don't seem to illict much joy these days.
